Did they figure out the cause of your failure yet? My truck is getting ready for the same setup with the same setup + some extras such as FMIC and upgraded fuel system, don't want the same to happen to me.

Don't do it yet Sprite.....either return the system or wait for a definitive fix..... Silverback 04-09-2006, 10:45 AM Don't do it yet Sprite.....either return the system or wait for a definitive fix..... I agree with Nowwhat on this. That system has a 50%+ failure rate and to my knowledge the cause of the failures have not been identified for sure. Rebuilding a motor and re-installing the STS is just inviting another failure. BA rebuilt his motor with stronger parts, hoping to address the problem and it failed again, so to me that means forged pistons and other stuff is not the answer. The root cause of the problem lies somewhere within the STS system. Texas Yellow Fever 04-09-2006, 10:46 AM Don't do it yet Sprite.....either return the system or wait for a definitive fix..... I agree with Nowwhat, I would NOT install an STS at this point. I would send it back and get a Paxton or at least wait a while and see what happens with the STS. Roktman 04-09-2006, 11:00 AM Ditto.STS ought to be buing them back in spades. sprite 04-09-2006, 11:11 AM I seriously doubt STS will refund my kit, if they would I would probably got for the Pro Turbo System's single turbo. Silverback 04-09-2006, 11:14 AM I seriously doubt STS will refund my kit, if they would I would probably got for the Pro Turbo System's single turbo. I would agree that the chances of a refund are probably slim to none. But then there are times you just have to lick your wounds and move on. :( silversrt 04-09-2006, 11:19 AM Keep in mind that the Roe Racing roots style supercharger kit will be out soon :) Craig 04-09-2006, 11:22 AM I'd call them and get in their ass personally, it's a joke how they have you guys scrambling for answers!! sprite 04-09-2006, 11:24 AM Any date on the Roe? I am looking at the Pro Turbo Kits Twin Turbo setup right now, cheaper than what I thought and I already got most of the other upgrades needed to run it (May need some new fuel lines and whatnot, but my engine is already built, etc). Craig 04-09-2006, 11:29 AM Aren't these the guys who blew up stinkers engine??? Any date on the Roe? I am looking at the Pro Turbo Kits Twin Turbo setup right now, cheaper than what I thought and I already got most of the other upgrades needed to run it (May need some new fuel lines and whatnot, but my engine is already built, etc). I'm going to go out on a limb here and take an educated guess. I'm thinking that maybe the Roe SC is what is going on 1Fast400's truck. Roe is building his engine and Mike has now mentioned a couple times that he will be adding a "Power Adder". He has also mentioned that it will not be a turbo(s) application. So that leads me to believe it will be the Roe SC. Just to cover my ass, the other possibility is a twin Paxton setup with the intercooler mounted in front of the radiator, but I would bet on the Roe SC. sprite 04-09-2006, 11:34 AM Aren't these the guys who blew up stinkers engine??? He ran it on a stock bottom end :p Silverback 04-09-2006, 11:34 AM Aren't these the guys who blew up stinkers engine??? When Stinker gets his truck back he is going to tell everyone what happened there. I know enough that I believe I can honestly say that it was not caused by the Pro Turbo kit. In fact I believe Stinker has said the same thing himself a couple times. Craig 04-09-2006, 11:35 AM You might be onto something Silver, I believe last time 1Fast400 posted in regards to it he mentioned that he considered a twin SC'r set up but didn't go that direction... we shall see!! I'm going to go out on a limb here and take an educated guess. I've been in California helping my son move and had very limited internet access. Well, it turns out that I lost the rod bearing on #3. I don't know why yet but that's what the Viper tech told me on the phone. I haven't seen any parts as I just got home. I'm meeting with him tomorrow to look at parts and come up with a plan of attack. The oil levels where all good so I don't know how the bearing got dry. There is damage to the rod, the piston and the crank. So,...stand by to commence standing by. Texas Yellow Fever 04-11-2006, 02:42 PM Damnit!!! Obvioulsy not a good day for engines...I'm glad mine is parked in the driveway... :( :( :( sprite 04-11-2006, 02:58 PM http://www.reverse-engineer.net/TT.jpg ^--Stinker's engine.... I'm swapping the STS with that. The kit is a little over 9k + other upgrades. I already bought an intercooler for the STS that I can swap in and sell the bellangers which saves me a bit of money. Me, Stinker and K-80 will be cruising in our SRTT's :) stinker 04-11-2006, 03:00 PM I dont know if they dont hurry I will be the guy in back pushing mine!LOLOL :D Texas Yellow Fever 04-11-2006, 03:03 PM Damn, that engine bay went form having tons of room, to filled up with goodies...pretty damn cool!!!!      sprite 04-11-2006, 03:04 PM Mine will be even fuller :p Got dual alternators and 3 batteries too lol Silverback 04-11-2006, 03:04 PM Hi guys, I'm back! You might want to do some research regarding that. breederofkoi 04-11-2006, 04:18 PM I was startin to wonder what happened to big asp. Glad to see he's still around. | |
