I have a digital recorder (DVD-Ram).

when you plug it in to your pc via usb....what format is the video in? mov ......mpg........avi..........

2 very short videos, dark so not much to see. First one is taking off with windows down. Then one taking off with windows up. Didn't really get on it too hard though. I can do better ones later. But you can hear it anyways.

I will try to make some better ones. My "Good" camera records in .vro and I still don't know how to convert to avi or mpg.

I did those with a small cheap digital still camera that will do a minute or so of video. That's why the sound quality sucks. Those clips don't really do the sound justice IMO.

Anybody have any idea how to convert .vro files?

1. A ".vro" file can be simply renamed .mpeg and you can read it immediately with windows media player

2. In doing so, remember that you loose the division in "scenes" of your file

3. you can keep the division in "scenes" opening your ".vro" file using software such as Ulead DVD Movie Factory. It creates a number of mpeg files equal to the number of scenes. The advantage is that it's much easier later to work or edit smaller files with tool such as ULEAD video studio. And also that you can directly use some of the scenes as beginning of the chapters of your final DVD.

I made my first home-made movie in this simple way. (starting from a DVD-RAM that I burned with my Hitachi DZ-MV270E)

It's still a big file. First time converting/editing a video file. :p
If it plays broken the first time, just let it go thru broken and then replay it and it should play thru the second time. :D
