We fired up the 577 big bore stroker motor in our viper srt coupe this last week. initial power readings are 651 rwhp and 655 rw tq. drove it to san antonio raceway tonite and back. 2nd pass it laid down a 10.88 @ 133.5 mph on michelin pilot sport tires running 25 psi. 60 ft was a 1.89.

this same car goes to the Car and Driver One Lap of America race next week for additional testing. 5000 miles of the One Lap and all the races in between should give us lots of good test info.

So, I have to ask, how much more dough does it take than the 522CID package? I presume that you're re-sleeving a bored out block in conjunction with the stroker crank to get 577 cubes?

Very nice NA power John.

Just guessing but its gonna be a lot more. I'm sure it has a replacement billet crank rather than just an offset stocker. Big diff right there.

John...what you think of those rollers?

Well Walt, as long as he has the truck, he could probably switch out the 522 for the 577. ;) Hell, you just may pickup another 100 to 150 hp. :) Not that you really need it. :D

you ever hook up any 605 motors John? Those 800M motors would be sick in a viper coupe...or dare i say it...a ram :D

we decided not to go as big as 605 cid. so 577 cid it is for now. and the big bore motor is working very well. we have almost 1000 miles on it and its rock solid. more testing to come starting this weekend at the Car and Driver One Lap of America.
