Strykers ordered today

Just ordered my Strykers from Dan @ DC Perf today, along with a cam and some other goodies. Looks like the 522 stroker w/Stryker heads will be realized a little sooner than originally thought. That would be due to #4 saying hasta la vista blake! So, Im saying FCKIT and throwing the final $15000@ this beast. You can all hereby BAKER act me for my actions, no really you have my permission, Im sick and I cant help it! :)

You'll love them. A superior head to anything out there.

Anyone know what I should pick up to the wheels with a full forged bottom end, stroked crank, comp cam, and these heads? DC said they had done this setup only on VIPERS. Ive heard rumors of 200+ to the wheels. If anything close to that they will definately be worth the ticket. I told them I was targeting 1000 rwhp and they told me to leave the Paxton on and i should be able to reach that power level with this setup.

Well, I'm stoked for you, but sorry that it came to that because of the untimely demise of #4... :(

I'll be really anxious to here your thoughts on the combination, it looks like I'm going to be able to order mine real soon too...

Oh but what a good problem to have! Already have the slicks on.....Trying to figure out a way to install a smaller rear brake setup so I dont have to keep taking off the rear brakes @ the track. Although I couldnt believe how little the brakes feel minus the rears. I swear it feels like stock. Im hoping to see 900+ rwhp whenits done....before the NOS.

1000 may be tough because you're going through an automatic transmission. I don't believe an extra 22" + the internals is going to raise your HP that much. The heads, upgraded rocker gear (not sure which one you're going with) and increased boost is where you'll get the power. I think a non boosted viper made mid 600's at the rear wheels with heads/cam/computer upgrade. You'll need to gain an additional 350 from the paxton. Granted, the heads will have multiple factor in gains with the boost. I think you could get the 900's, but 1000 is an awful big number. It took john MULTIPLE pulls and tweaking to eek out a 1000 number on Big Walt's build.

If you haven't already gotten a 1 piece driveshaft, do it. Get a hoop around it. Be prepared to upgrade the rearend to. 35 spline C-clips will never last should you ever hookup with that type of power. Your options are to get a 35 spline power lock, mark williams axles and new ends. With the new ends you can put on a smaller pair of brakes so you can fit a slick on there. This assumes you want to race the truck down the 1/4 mile.

Just random food for thought.

I can't stress enough that you don't even want to ATTEMPT a no rear brake situation if you build this thing. Your front brakes trying to stop a 5500lb blob going 140mph will catch fire and bye bye SRT. It isn't just the speed, its the limited shutdown area you'll likely have.

You have to realize when you hit the brakes the weight transfer to the front wheel is HUGE. Making that 5500lb a multiple factor.

I was told that the comp coupe cam wasnt the best one for a forced induction application. I thought about adding one on to mine but was advised it wasnt the best choice. Sorry again Blake about your piston. So we have issues with #3 (multiple owners), #2 (me), and #4 (blake).

Who wants to bet either a #1 or #5 is next up for some unknowing owner?

Honestly, not sure. I'm going 40 spline and detroit locker route. There is a thread in which FstJack provided a ton of information as he went through all this WAY before I had to. You can likely search his user name and "dana" to come up with the thread.

My "guess" would be parts total around 2-3k. This isn't counting labor.

Blake I have heard of vipers making around 900rwhp or so with a stroker and SC'r, I'll try to find it. But that was without stryker heads also.

If you want a dyno number, I'm sure you can GET 1000, but you won't be able to run it very long. You have to realize they're using a 6 speed instead of an automatic which makes a huge difference IMO. You would need to make 1200hp (at least) to get 1000 at the rear wheels. 700hp is a lot of ponnies.

1Fast400

Exactly, that is why I'm using it on mine. If I really wanted to make a race truck and call it a street truck I would have done some different things on my build for performance. However, I fully plan to drive the piss out of this truck.

I did forget about nitrous. There is nothing I hate more than nitrous :). Nitrous is just like *****, once you hit it, you don't want to stop. If you hit it to much it ends up costing a fortune

As long as you get some water on them to do the burnouts I think you'll be fine, to a point. If you get one tire spinning you're fvcked. I'm curious where the breaking point is on the rear. When looking at the spyder gears, they are pretty damn beefy, but still only two in there vs 4 with a power lock.

ha....

actually straight meth does not work as well as a 50/50 blend with distilled water.....washer fluid is like 20% max.....

Now on the other hand..I hear running a little nitro-methane through the water meth system will get you some hp.....

That one I will argue with you at length. I have run Water, Water/Methanol Mixture, and Straight Methanol, all in the same vehicle under the same conditions. Water ****ing sucked. The mixture was a little better, but I still could not run as high of boost pressure as the straight methanol. I would start to get detonation at around 25 to 27 psi with the mixture. Ran up to 40 psi on the straight stuff with no detonation. All water does to the methanol is dilute it so it doesn't burn. You also get greater cooling effect with straight methanol.

Your turn. :D :p

Well you are right and wrong.. :D ..straight meth may give you better detonation protection but as far as heat soak....

50 - 50 water / meth blend has better cooling abilities that straight......with out question....

On a nice warm day, spray water on one arm and alcohol on the other and see which one feels the coolest. The alcohol will evaporate quicker and be cooler which means it also cools the intake charge more.

It is counter intuitive I know but all tuners as well as the guys at Snow performance will tell you the 50/50 has better cooling effects....go to www.snowperformance.net

Of course if you are going to spring for a set of Strykers, you might as well pick up a set of shaft mounted rockers, hardened push rods and upgrade the lifters. ;)

Hey Wommy, I saw Oliver rods ...I think they have me set up for Eagle rods and Ross Pistons (ceramic topcoat and Diamond somethin on the sides).
