Amen!!! I am a full on fan of the original Charger cars. I am not sure what the guy/girl drafting up this new one was smokin, but they shoulda stopped earlier!!! No Charger I ever knew had four doors. It would be VERY, VERY possible for the Charger concept car to be parked in my garage, but as for the four door, NOT A CHANCE!! :p

Well, after going and seeing a new charger, I'm am soooo dissapointed. Dodge had the chance to really do this car right. It looks like a Magnum coupe with a stratus rear end on it. Not cool at all. The concept they had was so beautiful and would have been great. At least they got our trucks right!! :D Will hold judgment on the Challenger till I see it.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope Dodge sells a million of these new Chargers but IMHO it doesn't look good. They had a yellow Daytona at Mopars at the Strip and it got a very cold reception. There was a lot of talk about it among the participants but nothing very positive. Instead I heard a lot of, "I'd rather buy the new Mustang." Then, to further alienate this crowd of Mopar diehards, they laid down a "blistering" 14.9 on the drag strip while the SRT-4s were running 13.8 to 14.4. That didn't exactly impress a group where the average et was well in to the 11s.

As for me, I was all excited about the Charger and have been waiting since 1999 to buy one. As soon as I saw it... I bought a 300C instead.

Again, I hope they prove me wrong and sell everyone they can make but...

I can't believe Dodge did this to the Charger legacy. I'm dating myself, but I remember drooling over the 68 and 69 Chargers on the show room floor. I've been into them ever since, long before all the "General Lee" stuff. A 4 door Charger! This is a disgrace. Engineering wise maybe it's an awesome piece, but the body is awful. Even in two doors this thing wouldn't cut it. I think I'll go into denial and just call it a "Scamp or Satellite or Lancer or CORDOBA Light! (What, no rich Corinthian Leather?)
I hate to have to admit it, but Ford did an awesome job of capturing the design elements of the musclecar Mustangs in their new one. Dodge certainly had the resources to do the same. I hope the new Charger is a total flop and just goes away. I hope it's the equivalent of Ford's Mustang II of the early seventies. Maybe then they will get a clue that they can't just pawn anything off on their loyal customer base. DODGE- WHAT WERE YOU THINKIN! :mad:

Don't care much for the 4 door... Maybe they will come out with a Grand Caravan Srt-8 next and solidify the roster. :eek:
