I am ready for my 3000 mile service. I called my dealer and asked for the Viper technician the dealer showed off when I made my purchase. Oh yeah and HOW IMPORTANT it was that I only had my truck serviced by a "certified" viper tech. Anyway, the service manager told me that they no longer have a viper man and that any of thier mechanics could do my service!! I'd go to quick oil change joint if I wanted "anyone". I want someone that knows our engine to go over everything for my first service. You guys agree?
I found a viper dude at the dealer in Ringgold GA (just south of Chattanooga) and I'm taking it in in the morning. I think it sucks that a dealer that sells you a vehicle and continues to sell more of them (SRT-10's and Vipers) can't provide the proper specialized service these engines need!!

Viper Techs are rare at least in NJ. I know of 1 dealer that has a Viper tech in NJ and it is Buhler Dodge. I know 10 other Dodge dealers that do not but sell Vipers and SRT10-Rams
My dealer says Charlie is a Viper Tech but........... AT least they take care of me .. so far (fingers crossed)
If the tech can do the job and does it with care then they do not have to be a viper tech to work on my SRT.

I can imagine that Viper Techs are rare but it does surprise me that a dealer that sells Vipers would not have at least one technician that has some training with this engine!! I guess I'm being a bit proud ;) .
I guess what burns my ass is how my dealer used and stressed how important it is to have the engine serviced by a certified tech and how cool they were for having one!!! So maybe they were really cool then - not now!!!
So I found one - in the next state and my dealer is going to be pissed that I took their first QC to another dealer. Maybe they'll re-join the ranks of the COOL!! :) :D

I thought you had to have a Viper tech in order to sell Vipers?

I hear all kinds of things such as
1. Must have a Viper Tech on staff to sell Vipers
2. Must be a 5 star dealer
3. Viper products can only be worked on by the Viper Tech
I think maybe at one time this was true but now I think it is just a dream.
