I just spoke to the owner of Magnaflow and the retail price on the SRT-10
part #15832 is $668.98 I am buying the initial production run which will be available the first week in June. I am passing this price of $409.91 plus UPS fees. Now is the time to sign up for this new system. It is "ALL" Stainless and is 3" all the way. The Tips are double walled and very unique. The sound is incredable. They are a very simple bolt on.As stated before the HP is up 13 and the Tq is up 22 at the tires. These readings are not peak numbers, but are across the entire power band. You can actually feel the extra power. This is our cost to all the SRT guys on a first come basis. Mofo (949)760-5070

Steve I had lunch today with the founder of NOS. We talked about installing it on the SRT-10. He said we need to find out the output of the factory fuel pump, and he will make a system.(HELP) I am recieving a lot of pressure from the guy I sold my 03' Lightning to. He want's to make a big deal out of this. I am trying on some 18" Centerline wheels, I think they will fit,and then find what's a better tire, Nitto drag radials or B.F.Goodrich drag radials. If you have available any info on the fuel pump, please let me know. Call me at (949) 760-5070 Thanks, Larry (PS) call collect
INTREPER 05-17-2004, 03:31 PM Mickey Thompsons are considered to be the best.

INTREPER 05-17-2004, 03:48 PM I recall seeing some at SEMA 2 years ago, but that doesn't mean anything. I'll keep my eyes and ears pealed.

Hamrhead 06-02-2004, 05:07 PM Intreper-
Pipes look real good! Can't wait to get mine!
INTREPER 06-02-2004, 05:19 PM I wont lie to you buddy. They were a pain to do. The hardest part is taking them off with out scratching the paint. But with some patience, and the right tools, they'll come off.
Here's what I would do:
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to slightly head one letter at a time. Pry it apart with your fingers from the paint. Dont worry about the double sided tape as you will handle that after removing the letters. Once you remove all the letters, get a can of 3M adhesive remover and use that to remove what ever is left over of the double sided tape. Once all has been removed, just polish the area with some good wax, and you'll be in business.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program :D

Boomer, The pipes are 3" in and 3" out all the way to the tips. The inlet side is necked down to 2 1/2" to match the factory mid-pipes. Mofo

Steve
Steve, did you order your headers from Hennessey? I hope you ordered before the $1000 price increase. $2000 would be a stretch for me, but $3000 knocked me right out of the game.
I guess that's what I get for buying something so unique and rare, not to mention EXPENSIVE!
9 seconds 06-15-2004, 06:28 PM Steve, did you order your headers from Hennessey?
No. I was told by someone here that another company would soon have some headers available. I had a set on my Viper and would be interested in trying their truck headers. The Viper tuners I know are just too busy with twin turbos and superchargers to build a couple of truck headers. Anyway, I don't know if I was given that information on upcoming headers in confidence or not so I put that little comment in hoping the "man in the know" would speak up.
Steve, As we speak they are being prototyped, I should have a set by mid July. They should be available by the end of July or the first of Aug. I will try and keep you posted, I did hear the Torque is absolutly impressive. Larry
Titan 06-16-2004, 05:44 AM Yes, please keep us posted.. I am very interested in a set of headders @ a reasonable price :D
9 seconds 06-16-2004, 07:45 AM Thanks, Larry!
Roktman 06-16-2004, 10:51 AM Me too! :)
Hamrhead 06-16-2004, 02:16 PM Ditto on the Affordable Headers. Either a set of 'Shorties' that'll bolt up to the stock Cat-pipe, or LongTubes AND a Cat-Pipe that'll bolt-up to this Magnaflow Cat-Back system.
Damn, I better get a third job...
galoot 06-16-2004, 04:11 PM Bassani has the prototype shorty headers done. They are dragging ass on producing them. They had them done back in feb. You should call and nag them to death to get them to production. Specs are 1 3/4" stainless with 18in primaries bolting up to the stock cats.
9 seconds 06-16-2004, 06:02 PM If the Bassani could be CARB certified, they would have some California customers for sure.
My thoughts on headers is not to use shorties, there improvement is not enough to warrent the installation. I've seen tests on a non blown motors that the shorties made very little improvement. Mofo
Roktman 06-17-2004, 04:39 AM I agree. On our Impalas the SLP shorties made little differencec and everyone basically went with Tri-Y`s.

trev17 06-21-2004, 07:00 PM Just wanted to follow up with some of my impressions of our new catback- First and foremost the sound is intoxicating and really brutal.Brutal in a good way.Second, the top end to me seems crisper, not sure of a better word, but that seems to fit.Responsive, may be the better word. Third, Larry, thank you again!!!-
In addition as i was pulling up to a light, shifted down and wound down I could hear the guys in the suv next to me commenting on how loud it was, right before he asked me "if it was a hemi".... I said "yes", of course, and went on my way to shine her up,as she was very dirty- 2 coats of wax and she looks like a dream---- Still in love W/ her-

Is it hard to do? I would like to install myself if at all possible. Please let me know. Thanks!

FWIW, my bud just swapped in a Magnaflow Cat-Back on his '04 HEMI and he said he had the stocker removed in about 10 minutes, and his truck's about 8 months old with 8K on the odometer. Hopefully ours will be as easy to remove.
Larry,
Thanks for the Tracking #. Looks like it'll be here by the weekend! :D Hopefully I'll have time to install it too.

COILED 06-23-2004, 08:57 PM Hi Larry,
Fed Ex dropped my exhaust off this afternoon. I'll have it on by morning. Thanks agaian for all the help w/ the Magnaflow!!
Kirk
galoot 06-23-2004, 09:34 PM well the magnaflow is on.....and.....well.....it's different. not so much in a bad way, just different sounding. my opinion my be jaded because i am probably one of very few who already had an aftermarket exhaust system on my truck. for those of you who don't know my truck was bassani's tech truck. they did a xpipe with dual muffler system leaving the stock pipes. i purchased the magnaflow because i wanted the 3in pipes and it was just way to good of a deal not to. i must say the bassani setup had a deeper more aggressive tone, with lots of popping a crackling when letting off the throttle. i thought the magnaflow would offer the same it not more due to the fact that the magnaflow muffler is the same size as a single bassani muffler. i figured two pipes going through a muffler the same size as a muffler with one should be louder and more aggressive. it is not. the truck almost has a sportscarish sound. much more viper sounding than before. i want to see how the system breaks in and have a chance to drive it more before i totally past judgement.
i want everyone to know i do not think this is a bad system. it looks awesome and sounds good to boot. it fits perfect and went on in about 30 minutes in my driveway. fyi...drop your spare tire to the ground if you are short on space to get the tailpipe section over the rear axle.
larry, thanks again for this deal!
Titan 06-24-2004, 07:00 AM galoot,
Feedback is what we need... Can you post some pics and maybe a sound bite? :D
Larry,
You da man,

The actual system that I received has the tail section in two pieces unlike the picture that Magnaflow has. I will also take pictures of the system before I install it.
9 seconds 06-24-2004, 12:36 PM No doubt it's a great looking system. Mine came in yesterday along with my revalved drag shocks. Should be a fun weekend.
Hamrhead 06-24-2004, 01:36 PM Larry,
Exhaust was sitting on the front porch, waiting for me to get home from work today - Thanks! :D Looks real good too! Hopefully it'll be hangin' before the weekend is over!
Thanks again for setting this up! :)

quoteszone 06-24-2004, 08:00 PM Have you sold all the exhausts?

INTREPER 06-25-2004, 08:39 AM Im glad to hear you guys are loving the systems. I told you the sound was HOT!
67PLY 06-25-2004, 01:59 PM I've been running with no muffler for a little over a month now. Pops quite a bit when you slow down, but when you get on it, IT SINGS! Especially over 4000 RPM's. Not too sure if I want to quiet this thing down or not.
Hamrhead 06-26-2004, 10:31 AM I was dreading the install, as I pretty much hate exhaust systems in general, but I have to admit is was e-a-s-y! :D I've done exhaust swaps on my Lightning, Syclone, and multiple Mustangs I've owned over the years. This truck was by FAR the easiest! It comes apart with ease. Just do a little wiggling and the pipes come off.
I think it sounds pretty damn good too! I was expecting a higher pitched tone, but it turned out to be a nice, deep, mellow rumble! Definitely different than a V8, but good IMO! If I keep the RPM's down and go light on the throttle, it's reasonably quiet as well. Step on it and it screams pretty good though!
I guess these systems have quite a bit of oil throughout the pipes, as on my 'Test Fun Run' , ;) , I noticed a smoke cloud behind me a couple times. Then it seemed to stop for the most part. I got home and found oil at the end of the tips, and splattered all over the tailgate. I cleaned it all up, and hopefully the majority of the oil is burnt out now. I'm gonna drive it tonight and that should take care of whatever is left.
Anyway, all seems cool! Thanks for putting this together Larry!
mauiSRT/10 06-27-2004, 05:49 PM Larry I am ordering my truck this week and am interested in the magnaflow catback. Do you have any left? My zip is 96761
thanks and aloha patrick
INTREPER 06-28-2004, 09:30 AM The R&D team at Magnaflow did an awesome job with this system. They definitly built it for the "do it yourself" kind of guy.
67PLY 06-28-2004, 05:23 PM Here are a couple of pics of the Magnaflow system before install. Truck was too low to get any pics after install. If none of the other guys has a chance to snap a few pics of the system installed, I'm about due for a oil change, and I can take a couple with the truck on the lift.

You had a mod after 8 days of ownership. I got ya beat. I am wiring the cash to Woodhouse tomorrow and sending a check to MOFO as well. Catback should arrive at least a week or 2 before I ever see my truck!!!!! I have never spent so much money in one week!!! Or month for that matter. Life is great isnt it!!!
Derek 06-29-2004, 07:29 AM Anybody measure the weight difference between the Magnaflow and stock?
Titan 06-29-2004, 08:19 AM 67Ply,

Nice pics, can you drum up a sound bit for us ??? :D
Sorry TITAN, don't have any way to record sound or video at this time. Damn I need a digital video camera!
As far as weight difference, the Magnaflow has to be lighter, cause the stock muffler is HUGE!
gto19 06-29-2004, 09:16 AM anyone put the system on with the truck on the ground are is it to hard that way
67PLY 06-29-2004, 11:53 AM anyone put the system on with the truck on the ground are is it to hard that way
I installed my system this past weekend with the truck backed up on ramps that I bought at K-Mart ( no they were not Martha Stewart brand ). Still a little tight getting the old tailpipe out, but dropping the spare gave me plenty of room.
9 seconds 06-29-2004, 12:00 PM Anybody measure the weight difference between the Magnaflow and stock?Yes. I think it's 4# lighter than stock. I'll double check the numbers when I get home.
Stock - 56.8#
Magnaflow - 52.6#
Save 50# and just put some turn downs on the pipes after you remove the muffler. The 4 cat muffle the sound plenty.

LMAO! Yeah, but you have to get it INSTALLED before I did. I had mine on at 1,500 miles.
I removed a perfectly good exhaust system and stuck it up in the rafters... again.
Hamrhead 06-29-2004, 03:38 PM anyone put the system on with the truck on the ground are is it to hard that way
I did. Put a jack under the pass. side door, lower the spare tire to the ground, and you'll have plenty of room to remove the stocker. Then, installing the Magnaflow system is even easier!
CrazyChris 06-30-2004, 12:34 AM "perfectly good exhaust system"

I had my flowmaster kit on the hemi with less than 1000 miles on her. With the srt/10 I'll have the kit in the garage long befoe the truck arrives but probably break her in first then add it on. This is so cool.
mauiSRT/10 06-30-2004, 09:35 PM forgot, ...........the hemi exhaust is still hanging on the wall in my garage. I'll have a dodge oem muffler shop in there soon!!!!!!!!
gto19 07-02-2004, 06:39 AM put the magnaflow on last night .it was pretty easy 2.5 hours. sounds awsome.the best system ive ever heard.i did notice my pipes out the back are a little off (counterclockwise about a 1/8 inch.i loosened and tried to fix but when i retightened it went back to that position) .i guess ill loosen up an re adjust again.any tips on getting them perfectly straight would help :D
thanks larry
Derek 07-02-2004, 07:21 AM Larry
I will come by tomorrow and pick up an exhaust as we discussed. I will call to get location and arrange time.
When the headers come out will there be a 3" system including cats too. Can our existing cat back be modified to accomodate a future 3" systen up to headers.

Derek
Derek, Yes I have saved a set for you, however Sat. AM would be better. Larry Call and leave your phone #
mauiSRT/10 08-01-2004, 02:27 PM Mofo many mahalos for the awesome system. Its sounds just like you said it would, kinda of a exotic v12. I love how I can now hear it at any rpm. The pops are more pronounced. It just sounds like it looks now, mean and fast.
A little wd40 got the oem rubbers hangers to loosen up other than that it was fairly simple to install.
I am now "one happy mofo" !!!!!!!!!!! :)
patrick
Hamrhead 08-01-2004, 02:51 PM ...and yet another SRT-10 owners fuel mileage drops as the Magnaflow sound is addictive! :D

Vegas-viper-ram 12-07-2004, 09:31 AM Mofo, I need a complete hi-performance exaust solution front to back for my ram srt-10.. I am bone stock looking at long tube headers, high flow cats, and Magnaflow cat back, and anything else I am not aware of, so that the complete stock exahust is replaced, and I will still be smog legal. I also need the best aftermarket air induction system if you have that too. Im not a pro.. so the best sound/performance front to back and cai kit shipped to 89107. Please include total and address to send money order/cashiers check. Thanks.
SRTFirefighter 12-07-2004, 01:45 PM Damn dude! You want fries with that?!? :D
Group911 12-07-2004, 08:31 PM I think Mofo's Magnaflows went up to $469 + shipping & that's kind of expensive. I just ordered one & the shipping to Denver, CO was $60.
stinker 12-07-2004, 09:04 PM You mean you found it cheaper than $469? I'm sure everyone would like to know where that is, share the wealth man! I know MOFO charges whatever UPS quotes him, the box is kinda big and real heavy, so I know he couldn't have made anything shipping mine. The cheapest I've seen is like $557 or something like that on ebay, and I just don't trust some of those people as many scams as there are going on now.
Group911 12-07-2004, 09:19 PM The guy on Ebay quoted me $500 delivered to 80123, but I had already ordered mine from Mofo. It was about $20 more. ML
Pachy 12-09-2004, 10:20 AM I'm also interested, how much for the cat-back and for the complete system ,just bought a nitrous system and need the exhaust to complete it. thanks.
Pachy 12-09-2004, 10:21 AM Oops my zip code is 00659(Puerto Rico) :D
