Flash 2 for QCH-D 10-07-2005, 11:18 PM Dave, I was told to talk you about getting the flash 2 for my QC. Can you please send me all the info in it, and the price. Thanks Craig 10-08-2005, 11:15 PM Bro I believe the flash is $550 if you send them your PCM but your looking at downtime as the truck can't be driven while the PCM is out. You can purchase a brand new flashed PCM from them for $850 I believe. Install's straight fwd do it yourself stuff should take 10 minutes tops....3 screws to remove the PCM and 4 harness' to unplug and simply do the reverse to reinstall. Ohhh don't forget to disconnect the negative terminal before starting... :D Dave, I was told to talk you about getting the flash 2 for my QC. Can you please send me all the info in it, and the price. But one thing he didnt mention, If you plan on any other mods think about the VEC II also Now it will not change the shift points but the vec is much more flexible when it comes to tuning , if you go with the SC or STS or turbos then you will need either the AEM or the VEC for tuning capabilites. On our QC we had B&G flash the computer for better cooling and shifting only then installed the VEC II for tuning qualities. Just giving you the jest of it. H-D 10-09-2005, 05:21 AM Thanks for the info. I think that I will still get the Flash 2, However I do want to get the turbos in the future. But that is way in the future. Right now I am looking at Hennessey's 800 series, but of course is way up there in price. I am keeping my options open right now. Was the Vec II a seperate box that you use along with the Flash 2? or did you replace the Flash 2 with the Vec II? One more thing, how much is the Vec II? My funds are limited right now. I am hoping to get the flash 2 by the end of the month. stinker 10-09-2005, 07:54 AM First off if $ is and issue contact the guys at www.bgchrysler.com they are who do the flash, its the best bang for the dollar. You take yours out from under the hood(not hard at all can do it in 10 minutes) overnite it to them they flash it , and send it back overnite. They have some info on the site and thy talk kinda quick so dont expect alot when you talk to them. When you get your computer flashed and decide to get the VecII the computer stays, you just add the vec II to your computer, it makes it more adjustabel. As far as turbos, my truck should be done in another month or less, its a twin turbo kit that should run around $10,000 and with fuel upgrades about $3000 more or less. But too if you decide to go more then you will need the AEM system, the Vec II is good for around 700-800 hp. Hope this helps. H-D 10-09-2005, 08:58 AM Thanks bro. That is exactly what I was looking for. I will get the flash 2 for now. Then get the VEC II after I get the big mods done. What kind off turbo are you getting? Thanks stinker 10-09-2005, 09:46 AM We have a QC that has the gibson shorties , volant, B&G , VecII, no cats, ported Throttle body, and puts down 450rwhp. The best thing about the flash is you will absolutly roast the tires, 1st and 2nd. The turbos is a twin system, a place in san antonio tx is doing it, they are also doing another kit that they said to keep quiet but will be cheaper. You can search twins, or turbo update and see some pics. It will have twin t-60 turbos super large intercooler and so -on. They say they are expecting 700 or so rwhp and expected to sell the kit for around 9-10,000. Should b done by the first of nov. H-D 10-09-2005, 09:54 AM I think that I am going to go with the mopar ram air, the DC Flash 2 and the Bassini headers. That will be my first real mod to the truck. I have yet to decide on the exhaust system. I don't know if I want to go with the Borla's or not. The Viper tech at the dealership says that they are the best, however at the time I wasn't part of this forum. Now I am learning alot about what is really out there. So I will continue to search and read what other people say about the exhaust that they use and then make my decision. stinker 10-09-2005, 10:21 AM The bissanis are great! Also call boomer he has some great prices on long tube headers which give you a little more power. And everyone loves the magnaflow, gives a great deep growl, and a roar at WOT H-D 10-09-2005, 10:57 AM Great!! I just added the Bassini's and the magnaflow to my must get list. I will PM Boomer about the Bassini's and the long tub headers. | |
