Just giving yall the heads up these are coming out soon. I know those Chrome 22's are damn heavy. A set of these (18-20", whatever fits around the calipers) and some slicks should get yall in the 12's easily.
If anyone want's to sell your stock wheels let me know. :D
Budmonkee 01-16-2004, 09:11 AM Does anyone know how much the stock 22's weigh?
!!! Omg, that pretty much the wheel I've been looking for a year now. Will the bolt pattern fit a regular 1500 ram?

Your ram is 5 lug hub, but it says they're available in different bolt patterns, so you should be in luck.
sanchoba 01-18-2004, 09:11 PM the srt-10 wheels are forged, polished aluminum, not chrome.
sanchoba 01-18-2004, 09:17 PM i wonder what widths they come in? i'd like to put 345/40's on the rear like the viper, i found some 325/40/22's, which i'll put on the rear right away!
Joeykunz 01-20-2004, 03:13 AM well the average weight of aftermarket 22's are 40-45lbs each just on the rim. These look nice I wonder how much they will be? I'd like to put some on my ram.

They look like these on the concept version of the srt-10 except they don't have the rivets.
Sorry, can't link it directly.
COILED 05-31-2004, 06:35 AM Does anyone know how much the stock 22's weigh?
Our SRT-10 22" wheels weigh 78 lbs. a piece. BTW, my rear left wheel was defective and caused vibration around 75-80 mph. Dealer did the whole high-speed tire balancing act, but couldn't fix it. They ordered a new wheel 2 mos. ago but none are available. Now SRT wants the wheel back to do a runout on it. The truck has been sitting at the dealer for 2 weeks now. Anyone else experience this?
CNTW84U 05-31-2004, 07:20 AM Not sure I could live without my SRT for 2 weeks. Sorry to hear that!
Titan 05-31-2004, 07:34 AM Ouch ! sorry to hear that. 1400 miles on mine no problems yet (knock, knock)
Marc T 05-31-2004, 07:47 AM Had mine in for rebalancing. One wheel needed alot of weight to get it right. But it seem to be just fine at speed.

Red one came with a bent rim. Still waiting 2 months later for it. Silver had 3 bad tires (Truck came from Texas, don't know what that means). Black had 1 defective tire. All got fixed, still waiting on the rim.
Craig
The rim itself weighs 78lbs or is does that include the tire on it? If so, dam the regular 20's on a ram weigh 86lbs each, rim and tire.
9 seconds 05-31-2004, 09:20 AM Wheel and tire = 78#

Dam lol, I could go up to the 22's and lose weight on my tires giving me a better ET. Good to hear they didn't cut corners and make them heavy like the 20's on mine.
AliensExist4 05-31-2004, 06:08 PM Hey everyone. The pics wont come up on my computer. I have cable and it should work but it shows the little white paper with the red x on it. ANyone know how i can get it to show me the pics.
9 seconds 05-31-2004, 06:56 PM Those pictures are gone from the site they were linked to. Here's one but as you can see, it's a 6 lug for Vipers.
Hersbird 06-10-2004, 10:52 PM Just because the stock 22's are 78 pounds and the stock Ram 20's are more (mine were 82 pounds with the 275/55/20s), doesn't mean they will be quicker in the 1/4 mile. The weights are close which is great that the 22's don't weigh any more then the 20's even less, but the majority of the weight is further away from the hub. Given 3 wheel/tire combos of equal weight and same overall tire diameter, the smallest rim will give the best times because the bulk of the weight is in the horizontal part of the rim.
Now consider that there are aftermarket 20's for $200 each that will drop amost 20 pounds off each corner, and the 17's and 18's are even less, and tighter to the hub. I bet there is more then .3 sec in the 1/4 mile by dropping the 22's in favor of rotary forged 18" Centerlines (something like 19 pounds per rim and under $200 each). I picked up .3 sec just by going form heavy factory 20's to heavy factory 17's on my Hemi, I can't wait to try some light weight 17's and good tires.

i was wondering if we would have to run a 19" up front to clear the brakes. i heard the 18" fits the rear, but all i could find from centerline was a 18x9.5" rim we need 11" in the rear with 7" backspacing, and all they show is 5" backspacing. i am pulling my hair trying to find smaller wheels for this thing!
Hersbird 06-11-2004, 07:12 PM What tire are you thinking of that needs an 11" rim?
I'd think you would want to use the Nitto 555R drag radial in the 305/45/18 size. It is 28.78 inches tall, and 12.05 inches wide and needs a rim width of 9.5-11.5 inches. Weld racing makes an 18x10 inch forged wheels for the Ram, it retails for $414-$448 each but I think they can do any backspacing. Centerline also lists some wheels as having a custom backspacing and widths, maybe you would have to call them.

Dallas 08-25-2004, 08:35 PM San,
do the wheels have a finish on them or non-finish? If non-finish I guess I will have to use Mothers Alum polish again...ahhhh!
I am supposed to get my SRT-10 REd this week...the anxiety is killing me...it's been 3 weeks tomorrow! (thurs).
The dealr had to do a Locate for my red srt...he called me the next day and told me that there are six left in the US...i got lucky and got one...no others would do a dealer trade...so as far as i know, there are 5 left in the US for sale.

The optimum rim size for the Nitto 305X45X18 drag tire is 10". The back spacing on the wheel stock is 6.5". With the reduced tire diameter (28.78" vs 31.6") the stock 6.5" back spacing will be ideal. I am having a set of 18" wheels made at this time that will weigh about 20lbs per wheel.
This will be the wheel style, the picture below does not do the wheels justice as they are much better looking in person.

are they going to clear the front brakes though?
fstjack 08-26-2004, 01:03 PM are they going to clear the front brakes though?
We are not sure that they will clear the front brakes.
We think they should clear. We are going to hold off on the fronts untill the rears are done as this is all new ground. Then we can trial fit the made up rear wheel and it will give us more of a handle on what has to be done up front to make everything right. I am very optimistic that they will work in front with a 18X10, 18X9, 18X8, or narrower wheel. We should have various choices for rim width up front.

Things have moved along and it looks like we mignt get a 18"x7" wheel to clear the front brake caliper. It appears that nothing wider will work. We won't be able to get anything wider than 18"X7" on the front. So this will be for racing and cruising. To get a wider wheel on, it will take a larger diameter
than 18". The tire I will be using is a 255/55/18. That tire is approved on a 7" wide rim. I also understand that DC has changed the calipers on the 2005 models. How this will affect wheel clearances I don't know.
If anyone is in the San Diego area and has a 2005 we can try the 18"X10" rear for fit and soon the 18"X7" front.........JAck
