Dyno comparison. L vs. SRT-10UtOhCop 11-01-2005, 03:09 PM http://www.ls1camaro.net/freehosting/lightning_dyno_sae.jpg http://www.ls1camaro.net/freehosting/srtdyno.jpg amoparman 11-01-2005, 05:19 PM Why are they doing the pulls in third gear? I though 4th was the one to one ratio gear and was the gear to do the pulls in. That's what I was always told and have always seen. Doesn't using a lower gear mess with the numbers due to torque multiplication? Stretch stinker 11-01-2005, 05:27 PM And the point of this is?.......................... from what I see it means that we can run even with a truck that has 80 less hp? UtOhCop 11-01-2005, 06:11 PM And the point of this is?.......................... from what I see it means that we can run even with a truck that has 80 less hp? This thread has no meaning whatsoever. I just posted it incase people were curious how the Viper V10 stacks up against ford's blown 5.4L. :D VPRPWR 11-01-2005, 07:17 PM Too bad more power doesn't necessarily=faster ;) nowwhat 11-01-2005, 07:20 PM Too bad more power doesn't necessarily=faster ;) They guy who mows my lawn drives an L..... Doesn't using a lower gear mess with the numbers due to torque multiplication? Stretch The Lightning is a 4 speed auto. 3rd gear is 1:1 for them. Both trucks made pretty good numbers. My old Lightning was around those numbers when i strapped it down. Have not put the SRT on a dyno yet. But for Stinkers comment. We are 80 HP up but the Lightning has a 500-600 pound weight advantage. So that about equals it out. I really think our trucks would perform better acceleration wise with smaller lighter wheels. The stock 22's are just heavy and eat up alot of acceleration. I am trying to find a set of 20's like on the One Lap of America truck. I'm starting to think they need an auto RC. That thing would run high 12's stock I bet. Look at how low in the 13's some are getting with the manual on this board when perfectly stock. L's usually run a best of 13.6 when stock, I mean at best. Don't ever let another L owner tell you they run better, he is full of ****. I was at the 2003 LightningFest and I swear the best any of the stock L's could run were low 14's or a 13.8 red03svt 11-09-2005, 09:42 AM Don't ever let another L owner tell you they run better, he is full of ****. I was at the 2003 LightningFest and I swear the best any of the stock L's could run were low 14's or a 13.8 depends on weather conditions. I typically ran in the 13.6-13.8 range when stock, but was able to pull off a 13.40 followed by a 13.48 (or something in the high 13.4 range) when it was great conditions (right around 50 degree weather) it's been stated before, but the quickest stock L was a sonic blue '03/'04 (can't remmeber which) that pulled a 13.0x (I believe the x = 7 or 8). His name is 'Band' ... he's on these boards I believe as well. .... just my $.02 -- just to clear up some facts. but, you are right, that, similar to most SRT runs, most L's also pull mid-upper 13's, with some struggling to get out of the 14's, depending on weather/track conditions. -Mike P.S. I also agree they need an auto RC. stinker 11-09-2005, 11:42 AM Thanks utho , just wanted to make sure, thanks begood 11-09-2005, 01:49 PM I don't even have a job and I drive a Lightning. I will never understand why some people have to act in a childish manor, and if it doesn't stop I will take all my toys and go home. :D Bill. Wikdsvt 12-17-2005, 09:06 AM can someone superimpose those pictures on top of each other with the same graph variables? It's a PITA looking back and forth and trying to compare it. | |
