Civic driver practices drifting on the highway, Damn ricersMisterhemi03 02-14-2006, 05:06 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aIasXHYDAk BigDally 02-14-2006, 05:19 PM Been there, and that video brings back BAD memories. Cars just don't see bikers AT ALL, and sometimes the bikers don't make it (http://24.221.29.243/video/videobikes/badr1accident.wmv)! Part of the risk of riding, but DAMN! And I won't comment about the stupid civic phuck that spun in front of her.... D Django 02-14-2006, 05:29 PM Lordy............ Never been down on the street... over 40 yrs accident free. The guy in the Civic did SEEM to be in the wrong, but the film doesn't show why he went into her lane. Either way he had a responsibility to take the hit rather than strike someone else...specially a biker.... Very interesting film..... I wish our bikes stopped alot faster.... There's just not enough tire on the front for braking without flipping the ****er endo.... But, that's another sport altogether. Right boys? SDrm BigDally 02-14-2006, 05:40 PM Lordy............ D Misterhemi03 02-14-2006, 05:48 PM Me either, dont want to scratch my bike ;) Roktman 02-14-2006, 07:32 PM Not to make light of the situation but did you see the titties on the chick bent over the motorcyclist? She kept saying "look at me". I couldn`t stop doing that. v8eater 02-14-2006, 07:34 PM It looks to me that the Civic slammed on the brakes to avoid ramming into the white car in front of it. What made it go ape**** and spin?   BigDally's wreck video is just brutal. No better way to see how invisible you really are on two wheels. Azmotorhead 02-14-2006, 10:10 PM Anti lock braking not installed on the POS Honda. DUmbass driver (not the biker) not paying enough attention. I always watch traffic ahead of me thru the car in front of me s' windshield. Makes it tough when people have illegal tint on their back windows though RedSRT007 02-14-2006, 10:41 PM The 2nd video of the fatality is definitely an eye opener. Especially if you ride streetbikes. Keep it sticky-side-down -Red stinker 02-14-2006, 11:25 PM Sorry guys I couldnt watch the second one, lucky for the first guy he was wearing leathers. I see so many riders today wearing shorts and sandals is rediculous. And these damn poker runs these wannabe cruiser, chopper riders do is just plain damn stupid. I see so many poker runs where they have to stop and get a card, but they are at f'n bars! and by the time they finish they are plastered! One I witnessed was even a trooper! I know they are some good ones out there but this is the majority of what I see. But in my case me and Joanne both started riding the street by street racing. We would leave downtown gastonia and head to the mountain down around to South carolina, then back up ridge road, which was about 7 miles long with about 4 sweeping curves, and it was a balls out run. You clicked 6th gear and held her open if ya had the balls. You only dropped to 5th on 2 turns. There was plenty of side roads, blind turns, and driveways, and Joanne was right up front with the best. I saw so many of my friends get killed, broken, maimed its unreal. Thats when we decided to go racing and get off the road. Now since we get onthe track I see how STUPID it was doing what we did. Totally uncalled for . I have been called out many times by the "young guns" of the area, and I just tell them to meet me at the track if they are serious. I am so afraid of the street anymore, I really want to go to boomers and get a vulcan 2000 to enjoy in the mountains since we live so close to the blue ridge and the smokeys, but I just cant. I urge any of you, (but I will not preach) if you do ride fast on the street, please do so with a correct fitting helmet, boots, gloves, and at least a leather coat. Please. . They should have this video (http://media.putfile.com/Look-Longer-For-Bikes) in the drivers safety course IMO... These dang bikes are sooo much fun to ride and such an adrenaline rush, that if you're not careful you might wind up pulling sum stupid antics, maybe like those in this lil video (http://media.putfile.com/BikeComp-Good-Things)... It's all fun n' games until someone gets hurt.... D QckSlvr 02-15-2006, 09:22 AM Been there, and that video brings back BAD memories. D Tell me about it - coming out of the Keys two years ago myself and 2 buddys are in a turn lane waiting for the arrow, behind a car. Turn arrow turns green, car in front of me makes the left, I go next and a car going straight never saw the red light and hit me doing 30. Hit me square on the right side and sent the bike and myself airborne ( I was in the Army and never wanted to wear the red barret, so I definately did not want to be airborne now) landed on the hood of the car, bounced off hit the ground got up and ran out of the intersection. Then my bike is airborne and almost takes out my friend and his brother in one shot. Messed up my ankle some for a few months, but I'm still here, and in FL with no helmet law you bet I wasn't wearing one and that was pure luck at that point. womsterr 02-15-2006, 10:10 AM Dang quite a story.Stink I've ridden the Dragon's Tail many a time and of course they have soooo many wrecks up there everyweekend. Some of them BAD. I was impressed with the way the girl took the hit. Inched over every bit she could, grabbed as much brake as possible and looks like she feel right too looking at the angle of her helmet. Thanks goodness she was realatively ok. mauiSRT/10 02-15-2006, 10:12 AM Rokt, I saw the titties too!!!! Dam!!! Big Dally, that vid scared me, the bikers comes into view so fast!! No helmet law here so you see guys bare feet, shorts, no shirt riding!!! Its nuts!!! Crotch rocket guys are dying every year doing stupid stuff. patrick BigDally 02-15-2006, 02:33 PM Big Dally, that vid scared me, the bikers comes into view so fast!! I'm sure it scares the biker even worse! I've had a few near misses with peeps pullin' out like that, or peeps on the interstate tryin' to put a donut on my faring, and didn't think "the boyz" were ever gonna drop after the fact.... I thought you were always suppose to wear a helmet as an active soldier? I sold my Yamaha R6 because people are crazy drivers...too many distractions for people in automobiles. Roktman 02-15-2006, 02:48 PM I had a little V-twin 20 years ago and it scared me.I sold it and haven`t had a bike since.I wasn`t very good on it and it scared me.No point in me having one if they scare me. OCBob 02-15-2006, 02:57 PM I ride quite a bit, 30,000 miles a year or more. So I have had a lot of close calls, and some wrecks. Worst one was when I was in the Marines and t-boned a pickup truck that ran a stop sign. Luckily I hit behind the cab, so I just had a few broken ribs. But, even with all the idiots on the road I won't stop riding until I can't ride anymore. BigDally 02-15-2006, 05:41 PM I ride quite a bit, 30,000 miles a year or more. I'm just making every effort to be on the lookout for ragin' cagers whilst wearing plenty of PPG. D Silverback 02-15-2006, 06:03 PM I bought my first Harley in 1977 (long before they were the thing to have) and rode them off and on until 1998. The last couple years I rode I swear that at least once a day I had to take some sort of evasive action to avoid some dumb**** in a car. Most were not to extreme, but sometimes it was ****ing scary. My back finally got so bad I had to give up riding, but when the weather turns nice I really miss it. I'm with you Stinker, that second video was to much for me. Seen dead people. Don't go out of my way to see them if I can avoid them. BigDally 02-15-2006, 06:21 PM My back finally got so bad I had to give up riding, but when the weather turns nice I really miss it.Sorry to hear that mang. Hopefully all of our chatter 'bout riding doesn't "rub the wound" so to speak.... :( Again, sorry if the video upset anyone as that wasn't my intent... D | |
