remove hood scoop bezel?

The owener of the truck before me had painted the hood scoop bezel flat black and now its starting to look like crap. I have tried many times to remove it to get painted but im to afraid of breaking the dang thing. Is there a trick or something to removing it?

Thanks

Drop by Maaco and ask them for a pint of their stripper (or get their opinion on what to use) and then test it on the Under Side to make sure it doesn't harm the bezel before you continue. If the test works without damage, you are set...

Chief you shouldn't be posting before having your morning coffee. I think he was asking how to remove the bezel from the hood so he could go to step 2 which is what you posted.

I thought he wanted to take the Scoop off to get the Old Paint Off.... I didn't know how to get the Scoop off but figured I would chip in on how to get the Paint Off...
