Default Catless/Magnaflow vs. Catless/Stock exhaust(my experience)

After removing the cats, the magnaflow combination was just too loud... My neighbors would wake up everytime I came home late. On top of that I always had to watch out how much throttle I gave b/c if there was a cop within 5 miles he would hear it. Now, it did sound cool when I was full throttle... But there was no off switch!
I decided to try the stock muffler again(weight in the rear was another small reason for doing it)... Wow, I actually enjoy driving the truck again. It's somewhat quiet at idle, and under light acceleration and low rpm's it doesn't attract too much attention. Now when I get on it, that's another story.. there is actually a nice variation in tone through the whole RPM range. Even with just the magnaflow(stock cats in place) I still fealt like there wasn't much of a change in engine tone. I'm used to my old E36 M3(loved the sound), but the higher in the RPM's you got the louder and more aggresive it sounded. It just seemed like there wasn't much of a diff b/w 4k, and 6k with just the magnaflow.
Now with with the stock muffler and cats removed I have a nice change in tone, and it screams at hight RPM's. The mixture of the volant and the exhaust setup sounds great(exhaust doesn't completely drown out intake noise like before).
The stock tips look like crap in comparison to the magnaflow, so I may eventually stick the magnaflow back on and weld in some additional resonators somewhere near where the stock cats used to be.

I seem to be the only one that didn't like the stock magnaflow as well, maybe I'm just weird or not used to these big ass engines!
But I can save one thing I do love the way camed LS1's sound with the full exhaust system/headers!!

One thing to be said... The magnaflow alone is very liveable, but with the cat delete it upped the noise level a LOT!.. I live in an appt with a garage, and it would shake the floor on the people that live above us!.

Also, did you send your wheels off to be chromed? How much does something like that cost? Looks really nice on the black!

Thanks dude I knew you guys would like that. Make sure to watch me smack the vette in the vid. The guy in the vette filled his huggies as soon as I dropped the hammer lol

Well he did get smaked but not by much cause I just put the hammer down to hard and spun the tires too much.

I did have my wheel tripple chromed dipped and it cost me about a grand. The show chrome looks way better than in the picture. They look like they are diamond plated when the sun is on them.
