Had a 24 shift again so figured I'd add some more goodies to the thread
1 - For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink® buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash, which may take up to 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
2 - Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface, keeping the Homelink indicator light in view.
3 - Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold the desired HomeLink button and the hand-held transmitter button. Do not release the buttons until step 4 has been completed.
4 - The HomeLink indicator light (dots below House Symbol) will flash slowly and then rapidly after HomeLink successfully receives the frequency signal from the hand-held transmitter. Release both buttons after the indicator light changes from the slow to the rapid flash.
5 - Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
6 - If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
7 - If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light, proceed with Steps 5-7 for a rolling code device. A second person may make the following steps easier. Please use a ladder or other device; do not stand on your vehicle to perform the next steps.
8 - At the receiver (motor-head unit) in the garage, locate the "learn" or "smart" button (usually near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit).
9 - Press and release the "learn" or "smart" button (the name and color of the button may vary by manufacturer.) NOTE: Once the button is pressed, you have approximately 30 seconds to initiate the next step.
10 - Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two seconds and release. Repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence up to 3 times to complete the training process.
Turning off the Seat Belt Chime:
1 - Insert seat belt into latch
2 - Turn ignition to "ON"
3 - Wait for seatbelt warning light to go out on instrument cluster
4 - Unlatch and Latch seat belt 3 times within 10 seconds, leaving the seatbelt latched on the 3rd step of the sequence
5 - Turn ignition to "OFF"
7 - Chime will.. um.. chime to confirm operation worked
Programming New Key Fob
Note: Must have 1 working key fob already programmed to truck
1 - On old key fob, press and release the "Lock" button 5 times in less than 2 seconds.
2 - Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to "On".
3 - Wait for the dinging ignition alarm to stop.
4 - Press and hold the unlock button on the working remote for four to six seconds.
5 - Press the "Panic" button on the working remote while still holding the "Unlock" button. Release both the "Panic" and the "Unlock" buttons at the same time.
6 - Wait about ~3 seconds, the chime will.. um.. chime.
7 - Press and release both the "Lock" and "Unlock" button on the new fob. Both buttons must be depressed simultaneously. This must be completed within 30 seconds of the chime.
8 - Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the new fob until the truck locks and unlocks the doors. When the lock cycle is complete, the remote is programmed.
9 - Remove your keys from the ignition exit the truck. Test the remote for correct operation by locking and unlocking the doors.
Programming new key
Note: You will need 2 working keys
Note: If you already have 2 working keys, I would recomend getting a blank one on eBay, having it cut and program it yourself, then tuck it away somewhere safe, so if you do loose 1 key, youll still have 2 left to reprogram a replacement.
1 - Obtain the blank Sentry Key(s) that are to be programmed and have them cut
2 - Insert one of the two valid Sentry Keys into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch to the On position.
3 - After the ignition switch has been in the On position for longer than three seconds, but no more than fifteen seconds, cycle the ignition switch back to the Off position. Replace the first valid Sentry Key in the ignition switch lock cylinder with the second valid Sentry Key and turn the ignition switch back to the On position. The second valid Sentry Key must be inserted in the lock cylinder within fifteen seconds of removing the first valid key.
4 - About ten seconds after the completion of Step 3, the security indicator in the instrument cluster will start to flash to indicate that the system has entered the programming mode.
5 - Within sixty seconds of entering the programming mode, turn the ignition switch to the Off position, replace the valid Sentry Key with a blank Sentry Key transponder, and turn the ignition switch back to the On position.
6 - About ten seconds after the completion of Step 5, the security indicator will stop flashing, stay on solid for three seconds, then turn off to indicate that the blank Sentry Key has been successfully programmed.
7 - Start your truck.
