Installing Raptor Shift Light

I ordered one of their two-stage launch/shift lights a couple weeks ago. Hopefully I'm going to get it installed today. I spent a few hours last weekend researching the wiring to tie in the required Vehicle Speed Sensor pulse out to the launch RPM wire for the unit. Turns out to be a yellow/green wire in the C2 plug on the ECM that goes to position 27 IIRC. I un-loomed the C1 and C2 connectors and chased the wires I needed to confirm that information I found was correct.

The rest of the wiring is pretty straight forward according to the Raptor site and instructions.

I hate the thought of butchering my harnesses with those trailer wiring clip-on hack splices so I'm going to de-pin the wires I need from the connectors and solder some nice 18ga wire to the backside of the pins and reinstall.

I may post some pics and commentary if I run into any issues.

Current vehicle list:
14 Ram 1500 4x4
04 Dodge Ram SRT-10 38,000 miles
03 Dodge Stratus Coupe R/T 218,000 miles
97 F150 4x4 5.4L 233,000 miles
80 Firebird Esprit (drag only)
78 Harley Davidson FX 79,000 miles, dad bought new
71 El Camino, ZZ3, TH400, 12-Bolt
37 Ford 3 window coupe, 502 Chevy powered, dad built

Okay. I've got the wires run but for the love of sweet baby Jesus don't open up the connectors.

I ended up soldering to the wire external to the connector after peeling a bit of the insulation. Getting it hooked up to test.

God I hate hacks. Got under the dash to connect the power to the shift light and found a pair of wires had been shredded and cobbled to. Traced them to the power tonneau cover lock actuator that has never worked. Eliminated and repaired.

Well. It works like a champ. The green/yellow in the C2 plug is perfect for the two step. When stopped, launch RPM triggers the light and with any movement, Main shift RPM is active. Now to finish mounting and button it up. Probably going to pull the TB and clean it while I have the intake pipes out of the way too.
