Hey everyone! My first post here on the board.. Here's the thing.. I have an 03 Quad Cab hemi, and im planning on trading it in for an 05 Quad Cab SRT-10.. I like having the quad cab better than a single cab, but I know the quad cab's are only comming out in automatics.. do you think this is a downfall? Also, I live in NJ, so my insurance is higher anyway, but is there a huge jump in car insurance for the truck? Just curious about that.. I plan on getting a beater too that way i dont put a ton of miles on the SRT cause I put 52K on my hemi so far.. Im only 24 but I have an awsome paying job and can afford it now while I can, and before i tie the knot.. which isnt anytime soon.. Also, from my dealership there expecting the 05 quads in around Feb, anyone else here a diff arrival date? Thanks for your help! I'll be posting a lot more on here now

I had a qc with a hemi sold it to get the srt10 and my insurance only went up $20 a year!!!! It is listed as a reg cab 4x2 ram 1500.....no mention of the 500 ponies!!! As for a downfall with a auto tranny? Personal preferance really...I like to shift, some people dont. Availability? Feb sounds late to me...just get your order in now as most dealers wont be getting many of em.....If you cant get it for msrp or less screw your local dealer and call Bill P. he's a member of this site and can help out big time....Now for the serious stuff......never ever, ever, get married until your at least 30 and your chick is close to it as well!!!!! Prenup, prenup, prenup!!!!!!!! Think of it like car insurance, we all have it but we really dont plan on getting in a accident!!! It would be a shame to give away half of everything you ever saved to a marriage that lasted only a few years.....statistics dont lie!!! over half end up in divorse!!! Dam this is heavy sh#t for a Monday morning !!!! LOL

I forgot to ask.. Are there any numbers out on the QC? Like is there going to be a huge drop in 1/4 times? I have seen a huge range of times for the SC from a 13.2-14.0 in the 1/4... I dont know what to think for the 05 QC.. Any help?

WTF?? I'm with State Farm, 36 yrs. old, NO accidents, listed as a 1500 Ram, and mine is almost TWICE that!!

It's got to have something to do with location, location, location...

I'm going to see her this week, so I'm going to find out why.

Oh Yeah, Welcome Tom! :D

You guys are forgetting this dude is 24 (25 is the big step down) and NJ which is one of the worst states as far as insurance. Good luck in whatever you do man!!!

Insurance in so bad in NJ a lot of insurance co's won't do business there any longer.

What did you all sell your QC hemis for? Mine is an 03 Hemi with a hotchkis TVS, rollpan, 22s etc and I'm not sure what I can get for it. Only 14k miles. It was an SLT with power everything.

State Farm In CA

I have State Farm and am in CA, Am over 50 with spotless record and all the good discounts. The Dodge started out at 420.00 every 6 months then jumped to 608.00 every 6 months as soon as they figured out what an SRT-10 was. So if I wanna play I gotta pay. I checked all others and they were more...............Jack

I'm using American Express Insurance in Wisconsin and pay $540 per year which is very low. I specifically stated that this truck was an SRT 10 high performance...still got a rate lower than my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer (sticker price was $36,000)??? Not going to argue. Also received a $90/yr discount on the Trailblazer (2 car discount).
