Just curious. I have 235 miles on my SRT-10. Today I experienced the rev limiter by accident. I know that I should not have done that yet but I love this truck and just jumped on it. Tell me that I didn't hurt it please. I runs just fine. Maybe I dodged the bullet? Help me not fell guilty for this moment of stupidity.

OK, I'll tell you because you asked - You didn't hurt it, but don't make a habit of it!! At least not for another 265 miles or so. ;)

Seriously, if the engine sounds fine, then it most likely is. From what's been previously posted, these trucks need miles to break in other parts like the clutch.

My first 500 miles were done mostly around town. Light throttle, always changing speeds, and TONS of shifting! I'm hoping this helped everything break in well and things will last.

*I may have squeezed on it once or twice in the first 500. ;) Three times?
OMG you didn't

Droopy, I have never heard of anyone getting into the revlimiter that early in the break in period except me. I am a firm believer in breaking a motor in the way you expect it to run. I just do not stay at high revs for an extended period of time at that can aggrivate hot spots in the rotating assemblys. Modern engines are so well machined today that short burts of high RPM full throttle do not hurt them. IMHO. If you get a ration of s##t from anyone tell them to go spank their winkie. Be good to yourself. Enjoy the power.

Curious here, what happens when you hit the rev limiter?
it cuts the gas for a sec or two usually around 6500rpm.. but I wouldnt know about that :)
Well, I drive a Lighting, but I left the dealership sideways. Someone on the net took two sport bikes. He broke one in the "right" way and the other like he planned on ridding it. The one broke in like it would be run made more power consistently

The devil made you do it, but you'll be okay!
ORGASMICSVT, that statement doesn't make any sense, could you try again?
I downshifted into 3rd today and punched it....the rig just leapt off the road or so it felt and actually scared me at first with all the power it had....I am still holding under 4k rpms so I can only imagine what 5k ish will feel like...
