Gents:

I've only posted a few notes/comments on this forum since late last year, but have enjoyed the time I've spent here, reading every post on the new SRT-10.

I thought I had an order for my Black SRT in early Oct., 2003, and have patiently been waiting for that "phone call" from my dealer, advising my truck was in.

Well, I did get that phone call, last Friday. Now you must first consider this....the order was placed early Oct. The "800" number we all have to call DC and get a status on the order, has been used many times in the last few months, the majority of the times I called, I was given a "BG" Status.

The dealer was called, and he too, received the same information. But, last Friday the dealer called, not to tell me my truck was in, but to tell me the order WAS NEVER RECORDED by Dodge....! So, his only option was to reorder the truck. MAYBE another 4 months, but DC told them they would put a "rush" on their order. Not this child....! I'm not buying into that one again. We all know the prices are going up too.

The order has been cancelled. I had even sold my pristine '94 Vette, to get into this SRT. I'm totally disappointed there will be no SRT in my garage, not in the near future anyway. I have purchased a new regular cab Hemi, 2WD, and ordered the SRT hood, so if any of you guys see me running around in the Pacific Northwest in my black Ram 1500 with the SRT hood, don't think I'm just being a wannabe...
cause I really enjoy the look of your trucks.

It has been fun, and educational watching this forum, and I envy each and every one of you that have been able to score your truck. Good Luck with your new rig(s) and drive responsibly.

sounds like you detrimentally relied on the dealerships promise by selling your vette.

Sorry to hear about you luck. It really sucks that D-C is forcing this load of BS on loyal customers. I've had one on order equally as long and resorted to prowling the internet and buying one. Enjoy you Hemi Ram, it is a fine truck!

Your right. This was also brought about by dealers who promised things they couldn't deliver. A very honest one sponsors this site. Not one complaint about Bill Pemberton of Woodhouse not delivering as promised.

sorry to hear that. out of curiousity, why did u not take it to corporate? man, your feelings, time, and patience were involved. they owe you as a customer, especially if the srt 10 truck customer base will be revered by DC like the vipers.
sorry-

Thanks fellas, I appreciate your support. A question, why had I not taken it to corporate.

I think primarily, because DC had the order number in their system, at least that is the way I understood the transaction. i.e., the VON kept popping up as BG, and my understanding was if the order came up on their system as BG, it MUST be logged there someplace.

The salesman at my dealership felt the same way. I consider him a friend, as I've purchased three new Dodge trucks since '94 ('94, '96 and my '02) from these folks, and he has always been straight up with me.

And, I might add, I feel the deal they have worked up on this '04 SLT Larime Sport (all the bells and whistles) is fair. I've been a law enforcement officer my entire working career, and getting a lawyer involved in ANYTHING I do in my personal life, has always gone against my grain. No offence to any of you lawyers on this forum, just seen too many "deals" made in my 28 year career.

Thanks again fellas, I think I'll enjoy the Hemi ram....just won't been purchasing as many rear tires as you guys....!

I am with you on this one...My local dealership said that they were getting two in early Nov. So I asked if they were spoken for, and got a NO. I made the quick decision and had the dlrship put my name on the first one through the door. Well, it is 3.5 months later and my salesman calls me. I am thinking that the truck is in and the fun is about to begin.

Then comes the interesting thing...DC told the dealership that even though they were promised two trucks they are no going to get any, which means no SRT for me. My salesman asked if I really wanted one, and I answered yes. He said that they could get one from another dealer, but I would have to pay the shipping and whatever extra costs my dealer incurred during the transfer...

So, I am sorry guys, but I told them to shove it and I will wait for C6 vette. This isn't the first time I was screwed by Dodge, but it will surely be the last....

IAHEMIRAM....

Oh and if anyone wants a 2003 QC hemi, it is for sale as well...

Hey Bob ...I don't have an SRT-10, but I still come here because I enjoy
reading about the truck. I could probably get one, but it would put a strain on me with my other obligations.

It sounds like your truck will be similar to mine ....

Here's a couple pics for ya, the Hemi ain't so bad

Good luck with your new truck ...

I second what Mark has said, you don't have to own one to come here and enjoy, learn, and share. Heck I'm one of the Lightning guys.. Steve has always made me feel welcome. It's more about the Perf. truck Passion than possession.

Thanks for the pictures. The SRT hood on the Sport looks very clean, this IS the truck I have purchased. Which cover have you put on the bed of your truck. I want a cover that doesn't "raise" the profile of the bed, flush mount preferably, but how does one cover the post holes in the rails. Some body work, or has someone come up with "plugs" to fill the rail holes?

My dealer has given me his cost on the hood, $480 plus the insert of $139, and I feel they will paint it for materials if I push the issue a little.... :) The hood is on order, will take several weeks for delivery.

Anxious to get the truck out on the highway, but the weather here in the Pacific Northwest is a little wet for the next few days. The personalized plate the truck will be running is NO RAIN, a plate I've had on my vehicles since 1980.

I love this leather interior....it is outstanding!

Bob,
My truck came with the tonneau cover on it. My truck was ordered
almost fully loaded, with almost all options,
then some dealer options were added like
{ tonneau cover, wheel well liners }
to show off the truck as a demo type deal.

My cover is the Mopar Gullwing cover,
and can be found in the Mopar Acc. Catalog.

I'm unsure of the cost, but it is a little over $900 I think.

I like the cover very much.

I will attach a pic for you.

Checkmate has a flush cover you may want to check out, pretty cheap too. I love mine, I have the soft version but I'm about to buy the fiberglass “fx” as an upgrade. It was featured in one of the last issues of sport-truck magazine.

These vehicles were not in production in early November. NAVIGATE and IAHEMIRAM... what were the VON numbers that you were given on your orders?
I guess I should have clarified...they informed me that they had two on order in Nov., not that they were getting them in Nov....

I too have felt your pain. It was the same for me. Ordered on October 5th. Found out January 19th my order was canceled. My dealer finally ordered another one for me on the 24th of February. It was some big mess and every one from corporate on down was involved. I am also searching around to get one.

Great information gents, thanks. Joey, I have looked at the CheckmateFX, and do like the looks of the cover. I have also looked at pictures of the Gaylord with a small wing on the tail end, which would look good, if they just hadn't dropped the lip below the wing down so far.

I am going to stripe this truck too, and because the truck is black, have kicked around some color ideas. I have seen a custom fOrD in a magazine, black, with a dark charcoal grey set of stripes down the length of the truck. This looks very nice, easy on the eyes, yet pronounces your arrival...

My dealer has given me his wholesale price on the SRT hood of $480 (trying to soften the screwup is my guess, but I appreciate it nonetheless) plus the insert, but it is on order, so I'll hold off on the stripes until the hood is here. Has anyone come up with the width and spacing of the VCR stripes used by Dodge? I like the proportions, and I could come close just using Photoshop and scaling the photographs I have, but would appreciate anyone with some information on the measurements.

Any, Mark, thanks for the info on your truck suspension, this is THE route to go, IMHO.

i'm in montana, no dealer here has an srt10 ram
however, i've located several that are for sale at MSRP
in other states
also, you may call dave smith motors and order one, maybe next years, if they make them, for 189$ over invoice
yes, the sold the ones they ha for $ 41,579 give or take a few bucks

so, if you really want one, you can find them at a fair $
i just cant decide yet, i need 4x4, so then i need a second truck
