Bowling Green update ([email protected])

Here's a quick update. With just my home made cold air intake, no tailgate, wing and spare, I made a first pass of 13.486,103.18mph, 2.215 60'. Second pass was 13.341, 103.14, 2.101. I was still hitting the rev limiter right at the line. Thinking my driving needed improvement, asked my friend Tom of BTR Performance to give it a try. It was his first time ever to drive the truck but he is the Viper street tire king running a 10.43 on Pilot Sports in his Viper. His first run was [email protected] 107.19! No kidding. 60 ft. was 1.846. Tomorrow, we are going to go ahead and spray ~100 shot (still on factory tires) and go for an 11. Tom is a great driver and thinks he still has .2 on motor because he smoked the clutch. David Boggs is making a DVD of the event and all 3 runs were recorded as will tomorrows runs. Great news huh? Tell your friends! SRT is King! More tomorrow.

I must say that's great news 9 seconds. Glad to hear the truck is in the 12's. Can't wait to hear how it does on the 100 shot. With the hp the truck has the key is getting it to hook. Now get some tires on the beast!
well now that im done changing my undies, good run 9 seconds!
nice work

well done. well done ! 150 miles and ticking. still a few days yet till i can let into it. 9- nice work
Cool,so 12.9 is possible with a experienced driver..great runs.

Will the runs be posted on the net? I wonder how long it will be before, you have another thread dedicated to you 9 seconds. Congrats
Awesome! good lord that guy can drive...10.43 on Michelins?!?!?!? Congrats on the accomplishment. You made my 13.8 runs tonight look like a crap. Good luck tomorrow on faster times.
Great times, I just ordered a srt-10 the other day.
finally~redemption at last! ALL HAIL THE KING! congrats 9!
Congratulations. Spray it and see what you can do!
F'n Excellent times! High 12's at 107 with an air intake is killer! Congrats and Good Luck Squeezin'! :D
Did he tell you the technique to achieive a low 60? I think the thing most owners are having problems with is there 60.

Also, were these back to back runs? Or did you allow cool downs in between.
Ahhhhhh, redemption. Killer run, and this was always in the cards from those of us who have run Snakes down the line. Vipers and Viper Trucks are just flat hard to learn to launch. Once your foot gets the sensitivity to squeeze the pedal with finesse, the times come. That is part of the passion for the V10 beast, it isn't easy for everyone to drive to the max. We usually enjoy things in life a lot more, when they take time to master. Great 60 ft run, and now alot folks know what can be done with seat time.

Keep those cards and letters coming.
You will have to get one of these runs on tape. It would be nice to finally see a video of the SRT10 going into the 12's....or you could tape the 11 sec run when your nitrous is installed if you prefer ;)
nice to meet you 9 seconds

IT was good to see another srt 10 ram at bowling green. Mybe we can have a srt 10 ram meet someday.OH bye the way those vipers were kicking ass too! :D
Grats on your runs. I new the srt-10 ram has 12's in it. :) I bet if you gave your buddy a couple more runs in it he prolly could pull off some 12.5's :D
Saturday didn't go as well. I had to run in the stock Viper class and we ran out of test and tune time. We only had one shot with gas so we upjetted the heck out of the propane to keep it fat. Tom made a single pass but was in and out of the throttle because it was laying over (noticable power drop off) up top. He couldn't tell if there was detonation or it was way fat. The time/mph were both better but we aren't sure what HP or A/F ratio we ran. We decided to quit playing and wait for a dyno. In all the best was [email protected] 115.55 with some amount of N20 on for some amount of time down the track. There's nothing you can get from that, but I thought I'd post it as it is the fastest I've seen yet.

One thing I did find out was that several people I know have run faster times than me but they stay away from the internet. SW, from Austin, ran a 12.9 with 47 miles on the OD and no mods or diet. He only had the truck 2 weeks before he sold it. Lee Saunders, from Florida, was able to put down a 13.2 on a buddies truck.

Also, I put the original clutch/flywheel back in prior to Bowling Green because we never got the Spec unit to work. They should expect a call tomorrow!

Technique to run 12's? Launch @3000, slip (not smoke) the clutch, shift @5500 and use 4th gear. Tom and I both were able to get a little tire chirp going into 4th (@100mph) like this.

The truck had been sitting for 2hrs, 11min. before Tom made his 12.7 pass for those who care.

David said he would burn the SRT-10 runs on a DVD and send it to me but I'm not expecting it real soon. They have a lot of things to finish up and a DVD to make for sale. I'm sure someone will host it.

Sorry I didn't get to do much more than introduce myself to you. I looked for you before Tom made his run but I think you had gone. Next time.

I ran into my first ever SRT-10 in the wild at a Hooters in Horn Lake, Mississippi. Who would have thought?
congrats on the great times, nice to see an experienced driver able to pull those times.
