Anyone know of a ceramic application for the mighty red calipers? Reduction in break dust would certainly be welcome.
On the L boards, most that have changed to ceramic, were'nt to happy with the heat retention of ceramic pads distorting rotors quicker, although they did'nt have to worry about brake dust.

Ceramic Pads NFW

I tried Raybestos Ceramic brake pads on my 98 Expedition. The original factory front pads lasted 48000 miles. In 30000 miles I went 2 sets of stock rotors, 2 sets of crossdrilled and grooved rotors, all trashed in less than 4000 miles. The rotors came off looking like they had loepard spots. 5 rounds of rotor turnings. I finally gave up and bought a set of Chinese replacement rotors and Wagner Semi Metallic pads. 30000 miles later it still stops smooth and straight. Wagner Semi Metallic pads are much cleaner than factory pads as far as brake dust is concerned. The stopping is great and they work. Ceramic pads were the worst brake disaster I have ever encountered. In talking with a friend that has a front end shop his experiance was the same. He had every brake job he did with the Raybestos ceramic pads come back within 4000-5000 miles. I liked the low brake dust with the creamic but the rest is a joke. I spent over 2K in parts and machine work to have a horror story corrected and it was never fixed untill I stopped using ceramic pads. This is my sad story with ceramic pads...........Jack

Had heard rumors that EBC was working on pads, but nothing has transpired of late. This is one of the disadvantages of having fast vehicles that need brake pads that are better than race pads of the past - they are dirty.

Hopefully , we will see something soon.
