05 QC, auto tranny
From a stop, when accelerating, around 30 mph, a loud chattering starts; to make it stop, I just take my foot off the gas pedal. Won't do it unless I'm at a stop then accelerate. Any ideas?
Fluids are good. What gets me is that I can make it stop just by letting off the gas pedal, or it'll just keep making the chattering noise, and won't come back unless I come to a complete stop and accelerate again.
It sounds like its coming from under the truck versus the engine bay.
I found someone with the same problem on cartalk.com, it was posted 2011. He had his mechanic check the flexplate, exhaust system, motor mounts, nothing bad was found and his noise was still there. The mystery continues.
I'm having the same problem on my 06 QC. Sounds more like plastic striking plastic and immediately stops the second you let off the gas. Almost sounds like the fan hitting the shroud but thats not the case. Mine seemed to have started just after the driver side hub was replaced but sound seems to be coming from underneath mid-cab. I'll post it when I figure it out.
