I see orange peel on mine at a certain angle. orange peel means clear coat to me. Also the brake dust cleans to easily as opposed to straight aluminum. I wish they were not cleared in the fact I could get them shining like chrome fairly easy but I would not have the protection clear gives. Might strip the clear down the road and re-do mine myself. I am not that happy with the polishing as I think it could be better.

In 2004 the wheels were clear coated. I don't know about 2005's.
2004,s are definitely clear coated. Had one of my wheels damaged and the dealer said they could repair it. Well they repaired it and it looked great, until I used some wheel cleaner on it and it stained the hell out of them. They removed the clear coat during the repair process and figured it didn't need to be put back. Well after a few strong words they agreed to re-coat it. They had one hell of a time prepping it. Apparently with-out the clear coat the aluminum will absorbe any chemicals or waxes that is applied. They had to bake it several times to get all the crap out of them before the clear coat would hold.

Some people just won't learn, do it right the first time and it will save you $ in the long run!!

No snow or salt residue on the SRT-10 (for now). Washed it last week and it is in my driveway clean as a whistle (once I cleard the 14 inches of snow off :D )
I do have to take it into the dealer for it's first service Thursday. Dreading it becuase of the crappy roads and salt. Guess I will power wash her again SUnday when it is 40 out .

I noticed the orange peel when I first washed the truck last month.

Thanks for the info on what you went through...I'll have to be alittle more careful with the rims.
