Not trying to be an ass but have you checked for vermin. I have seen cars where mice and squirrels have gotten in and there is not much left of the electrical systems after they are done chewing on them.
While that is a good thought a Battery Tender will not power up any of the systems in the truck like an old style battery charger will. It has to be connected to a battery or it does not put out enough power to run any equipment.
