NO, after reasearching them I got mine from here: http://www.badlanzhpe.com He had the best prices for a great product (get the HD motor ones, I think he has them on sale now).
I also have the remote controller to activate them. I have experimented with them on my otherwise stock exhaust. Here is a sound vid of me at the track running one up front. I was told it stood out amoung the other exhausts at Buttonwillow that day. I think it sounds mean when open. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3y-xwpIwDQ

I placed the first one on the back of my muffler. This is what I open up on the street if I just want a little more rumble, when I'm in the mood to draw more attention. In pursuit of more power, I placed a pair in the mids after the cats, thats what I dynoed with. But my last efforts have one before the second pair of cats on a crossover I had installed. This eliminates a pair of cats and the muffler and tail pipe, and is what I want to dyno in comparison. Here is a link to my video's, one of which shows the crossover application:http://www.youtube.com/droptail

Some exhaust pressure relief on stock system at high rpm can free up some ponies.
Quick, your axium can certainly be valid for alot of fluid systems, but not blanketly, as you imply. I remember when I used to drag my Cuda @ OCIR in the 70's, and some guys used to crawl under the car and unsrew the cover plates to "uncork" their headers for an extra .1 or more. I saw it work then.

To be honest, the argument is moot for me because I would pursue this Jeckel and Hide exhaust just for the sound/fun of it anyway. Stock exhaust sucks, and I don't want to listen to a loud exhaust all the time.

I gained 5 ft/lbs and about the same hp with the pair, and hope to double that with my more effective placement. You see, it opened and closed automatically, as well as I manually did it with my remotes while it was on the dyno, for back to back comparisons, thats what I wanted to find out. Must have done a dozen or so pulls.
