What is the empty, flat area on the passenger side under the hood...looks like an extra battery compartment??

From what I understand that is where the TurboDiesels have their 2nd battery. Why we have one ---> ?? Maybe Mopar figured they give us some extra stuff since these trucks are so pricey??

I was told that it holds up the airbox and some of that plumbing.

yea, that plate is part of the air box mount. That came out when I installed my CAI. It has 4 bolts, 2 on top and two just above the inner fender well

Its a Treasure box holder to store all the emblems of the cars and trucks you going to blow the doors off. Of course its big enouph to store you ass just in case you get too confident.
