Ok guys im a lazy one today

with the 2 trucks i want to put headers and exhayust system on them

who/what where is the best place to talk to or order from?
or is a custom a better idea??

Would like to support a sponsor here even if it means a few bucks

I am not gonna be cheap about it but i dont want to explode the wallet either

I want good sound and better performance

Im thinking a set of s/s headers and having them coated by JetHot (thinking that was the company that does header coatings) or a similar company

Help

Rolex - we are using the Magnaflow exhaust and for now have decided not to build our headers on a production basis. They are just too expensive to build. So I think Mofo's offer is the best price and product out there.

Maybe I can help you with some other product at some point. We really specialize in big power packages done at our shop. If a 10-second Ram SRT is something you want done, then thats really our specialty.

Hey whats up man,
I also always try to help out the sponsors as well!!!!

I guess it kinda depends on what you are looking for, and want to spend, but here goes....

If you want a set of Belanger Longtubes, talk to Bill P for the best prices....
If you want a set of Henessey Longtubes, talk to John Henessey for best prices...
If you want some of Larry's Custom Longtubes, talk to Larry (Mofo) for the best prices...
If you go the Gibson Shorties/High Flows setup, talk to Boomer for the best prices... Boomer also has something real sweet on the way as well (complete kit, including Stepped Longtubes, Mid-pipe, crossover pipe, along with Magnaflow exhaust), so if that is something that sounds interesting, check in on that as well!

Hope this helps man, now all ya gotta do is decide on which set to go with!!! As you will see, that is half the battle!!! :D

Hey Darksyde or anyone else, what is the difference between longtube headers vs. shorties? I mean beside the obvious, is there a difference in power?
Differences, in headers OH YES there are........

There many differences in long tube and shorty headers, regarding performance. Your best headers are listed in the following order for horsepower and torque gains.

1. Long tube, stepped header with merged collector.
(Best horsepower and torque gains over a broad range.)

2. Long tube Tri-Y, stepped header.
(Very, Very close to #1, some consider to be better than #1.
I don,t but for certain applications very very good. Great for
hot street.)

3. Long straignt tube headers, with merged collectors.
(Good horsepower gains mainly at high RPM's. Drag or road race
in a narrow upper RPM range)

4. Long tube with conventional collector.)
(Narrower high RPM range, usually high RPM drag race only.)

5. Shorty headers *Short tube headers*
(Small improvement over stock manifolds that are very
restrictive, Also used for supercharged vehicles where
emission laws are enforced. Most are emission legal.
Usually very small if any improvement over stock,
some users actually show a loss in HP & TQ.

There are differences between brands of the same style header.
This is beacuse of tube length, tube diameter, length of tubes,
where the step is located, and the design of the collector merge.

I have used all the above over the years and this has been my
experience with the different types of headers...........Jack

Thanks for the info Jack, I appreciate it! So, basically, I want the long tube headers, the next question I have is do they have a problem with being smog legal? Thanks again!!!
What will the long tube headers do as far as the cats go? Will they eliminate any of them, or will I still need to do that? Basically are the cats located between the end of the headers and the start of the exhaust? I think I just answered my own question, but some verification would be nice. Thanks.
WOW

cool thats the info i was looking for

John H thanks i can understand the price issue and as soon as i decide what vehicle to Venomize (not sure if thats a word or not) not sure if i want to do a truck or a viper yet LOL

Hey Jack

ok thanks for the info please check your PM

What is the difference between stepped with a merged collector and Tri-Y?
?

so do the headers make a big difference in sound... even if you have an exhaust?
