Hit the road course this weekend

I took my truck to gingerman road course this weekend it's a 12 turn 2 mile track, and all I have to say is awsome! I was nervous prior to the event due to the trucks taller stance, I thought that It would have a significant amount of roll. I was wrong, the truck handles like if it were on rails. We were at an SVT cobra event so I knew I had to run fast, and fast I did. To put it in perspective a instructor had a 02 cobra with racing tires and ran 1:42 lap times. My truck with stock set up also ran 1:42's. I also was able to run a 03 viper around the track were I turned in a 1:37 lap time.
To sum it up the truck exceeded all expectations on the track, if anyone has the opportunity to run on a road course do it, you won't be disapointed.

SSweet.......

congrats on taking the beast thru the twisties!!!!! how did your clutch perform? i think you know what im getting at.....
also, thought id let you know that i beat your previous chopper record..... take care
That's awsome! I think road racing is more fun than drag racing and has even more driver skill involved. Way to go.
The clutch performed flawlessly, as well did the brakes. It is amazing how deep you can drive into a corner with this beast. The brake ducts work wonders. I had a couple of times were the brakes became a little spongy, but when I would hit the straight they would cool right off and firm up immediately. The only thing that would make this truck perfect would be independent suspension. I have pictures that I will be able to post soon with the inside rear wheel barely in contact with the track in some of the more severe corners. Looks cool though.
AWESOME,I've always liked twistys over the few seconds going straight, great to hear the Beast did so well, I still have to get my L to one. always wondered how many would take thiers on the road courses, and how they would perform.
Had to be Sweet turning the same times as a cobra, I can only Imagine the talk in the pits LOL

who else has had thiers out on a road course? I think I remember Steve did, anyone else?
Sounds awesome Jimmy. We have a road course here on Maui as well. I might have to check that out myself.

Glad to hear that you had a good time. Sounds like it won't take much to beat the Vipers on a road course with the SRT-10 Ram.

You might want to look into that SVT Cobra though..........They didn't make a 2002 SVT Cobra.
Was invited to Sebring in July to hit a road course, however I could not commit....Sounds like it will be worth going to now that the weather is starting to cool off here.

Thanks for the post....looking forward to seeing some of those pics.
