I Got It!! I Got It!!!

HEY ALL, THE SOAP OPERA SAGA IS OVER! I FINALLY got my 2004 Flame Red SRT-10 Dodge Ram! It was ALMOST a month! 28 days before I got it!
The dealr called me up last tuesday (Aug. 30Th,2004) and told me he had good news and bad news...I told the dealr that maybe the transport trucker stopped on the way and parted out the Ram. He said, no no....the good news is that there is no bad news...YOur Truck Is Here! I told him GREAT! when can I come pick it up...(like I am gonna listen, right?) He said it would be ready by 2pm...well it was 12:50pm...I said ok, I'll be there!

I left work like a shot out of my Dan Wesson .357! With their new loaner 2004 4x4 Laramie Ram I got to the dealrship pretty quick for being 16 miles away. Sales guy said, You're early! I said that is ok..I waited around and got familiar with the truck on the showroom floor-- black srt-10.

Finally, the truck came up to the front of the dealership where every one could see it.
Every one huddled around it...That flame red is hypnotizing! (Just like my flame red 1997 ram that i had up until last Nov). Anyway, I inspected the truck really good...went into the dearship and finalized my down payment and off i went into the sunset with my Iron horse.

What a truck...It is totally awesome as all other SRT owners know...
anyway i got it home and damp-wiped it down and put on some of that new NXT generation polish wax by Meguair's....that stuff is awesome too! Talk about smoothing the finish! when i look at my sideview mirror and look along the side of the truck...daaaaang the reflection is beyond words! almost like a mirror. I also got some Mothers alum polish for the 22" wheels...guess i'll be working those wheels ever so often...reminds me of when I had my Harleys. polish polish polish! Is there anything easier to use other than old fashioned elbow grease...ahhh!

I didn't tell anyone at work that I got a new truck...(I had just bought a 2004 Hemi quad cab last nov. and traded it in for this srt). When everyone at work today (small R&D group) saw a new truck in the parking lot...they could not believe that I got ANOTHER vehicle. they all gathered around...you know the drill, open the doors, lift the hood...ooo, aaahhhh,,,start the engine and so forth! Anyway, we are all happy now...and so am I.
I didn't need that Ferrari anyway...I got Dodge! Hope Dodge doesn't mess up the body design...it is the coolest truck on the road...Just ask my Ford & Chevy friends...they'lll tell ya! they are secretly jealous...cuz this twuck is toe-toeee goh-geous!
I been having tooo much fun driving this thing...and i gotta charge up the dig'l camera...but if ya wanna see pics...just go to any web site for now and look for a red one... or some of the red ones in this forum...my twuck wooks weeelie good! but i will try and put some pics up on this site...

thanks for reading...

Dallas! :D

CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW RIDE! :p USE THE MAG POLISH ON SOMETHNG ELSE CAUSE' THE WHEELS ARE CLEAR COATED!
mag polish...

San, I used some of that mothers polish on one wheel tonite...and it takes off the oxidation...unless the wheels are different...mine are definitely bare alum...I can tell after polishing, the difference btwn the front drvr side wheel and the polished on that i did same side...rear...and boy are my fingers tired..

Dallas..
Yea...Dodge got this Flame Red right!! So many other red vehicles out there that look too orange'ish.
Dallas you are the man!!!!!!!!!!! /And I know you feel it, cause I did too....Get yourself a nice 12 or 18 inch brush with soft bristles to clean inside the wheels. It makes it a lot easier to keep em clean. I got mine from Walmart. Otherwise your gonna have some busted up hands.

Keep it cool until your past the 500 mile mark....Your clutch needs that nancy driving to break in properly. Well at least thats what everybody else told me here on this site!!!!

have fun dude!!!

Good that you got your truck. The wheels on mine are clear coated and do not need to be polished. As far as break in go easy on the clutch but I ran mine like it was stolen from go. The only vehicle I broke in the way the factory manual recommended was a nissan pickup and it was such a dog that it barked. I had a carb and EFI shop for years and whenever I drove a customers/same make and model truck on a road test it always ran better than mine. We spent many hours trying to figure out why the truck was so anemic. There was no reason and it was smooth running, just slow. We could only attribute it to break in. The new ones that I broke in hard ( and there have been many ) always ran hard. IMO

Congrats Dallas!!

San.. On all my SRT's the wheels are BEAR aluminum, no clear coat.. Are you sure yours are clear coated, with the aluminum heating up and expanding, the break dust gets lodged into the pouris surface and is a ***** to clean.

How many have naked versus clear coated rims? Mine are certainly polished, just not clear coated.

Craig
Congrats!! I did the same thing...traded in the HEMI for the SRT....best thing I ever did...I love this truck in every way...Enjoy and welcome
Hear, Hear no bear here..........

Craig, my rims are coated thank goodness. I am asking others to reply as to the status of their rims COATED........UNCOATED lets hear from you guys. I also had a thought, are there any lady owners of the Ram SRT-10?
Thanks all!

Yep, before I posted yesterday, I got that Mother's Alum Polish and hoped that my wheels were coated...but they aren't. bummer. anyway, yes I am taking it very easy..I always break in as per mfr suggestions. want to minimze any potential probs down the road.
It rained here in Seattle yesterday but as you read my post, I drove my Lil Red Wagon into work anyway....I washed and waxed the back half of the truck again and the tail gate (cuz of rain)--gave it a good waxin and I left it home in the garage today cuz it is supposed to rain...spotty --a little here and a little there...but this afternoon it is supposed to be nice...so at lunch i am going to go get my Exotic Sports Truck...and cruise from home back to work...the only thing is ...I wish for once that I lived a little farther from home..I only live 3.2 to 3.5 miles to work.
so i guess i will take the long route and do the 3.5 miles to work Ha!
(In Calif, i used to drive 62 miles one way to work. From San Bernardino into Cerritos)! I had lots of radio/music time in my 1997 ram...that was a good dependable truck! Ok so i reminisce a little.

I did have a soft bristle brush for washing, got it at Target...it's just the polishing that is a time-sucker. Maybe I can get the wheels polished a little later and then have them clear coated.
This weekend I am going to go get Line-X sprayed into the bed..I did that on my 1997 ram, and my 2004 quad cab. RhinoLiner is too grippy if i happen to put stuff in the bed. with Line-X, i just put an old blanket down set the stuff on top and pull the blanket with the stuff on it for unloading. guess with the air foil on the back now, I won't be hauling anything at least it won't be a fridge or bedroom dresser etc....good excuse for neighbors who think that my truck is also a loaner to use for them...ha!
But my first load will be a table top. It is going to the dump...
can ya picture it...backing up to the pit and sliding out the table top..Everyone will be like...what the heck kinda truck is dat?
ok gotta work now...
thanks for all the congrats and suggestions...!
i forgot to charge up my dig'l camera again...well when ya have an Exotic ---well you know how it is...your mind is only on one thing...VAAAhhhhroooooom!
<screeeetch> ahh fourth gear...it's awlright...!

Clear Coated here.

Congrats on your new ride! Just last week I saw my first RED SRT-10 at a Dodge Dealer. Sweet lookin'! You can see it from a mile away, so be careful! ;)

Glad I saw it too, cuz now it's g-o-n-e!
Congrats Dallas.... Red was my choice also.... As far as I know my red one is the only one in the state.... Rumor has it there is one up farther north in Fairbanks (350miles) but I haven't seen it down here. In Anchorage there are 3 Black, 2 Silver and my red one! Get her broke in then have fun!

I am always careful...and that is why i got red so that a blind man can see me! Up here in washington, during the winter I don't think black or grey would go a body good, if you know what i mean.My neighbor bought one of those ricers...nissan z car...guess how many times she has been run into..?
3! and that is since last May of 2004! she says she is going to trade it in for a different color...I told her that maybe it is the color...3 times...holy smokem"!

Dallas :)
I agree red really looks good, and silver stays clean longer, but sorry, Black is much faster!! :D :D :D

Nice!!!!!!!!

I too sold the hemi and got the srt10 in FastBlack!!!! :D :D

I guess I'm the oddball here. I traded my supercharged Silverado SS in Arrival Blue for the red SRT. My friends were shocked, to say the least. As I have told them, however, the SS is a very nice truck; the SRT is a monster. I'll trade nice for monster anyday!
Yeah, this red is one of the best I've seen. You can see to the left that the Torch red on our Z06 isn't nearly as rich.

Congrats on your SRT-10! I lucked out back in February. Decided to buy it, found a red one on my third call, and bought it within a few hours. Both my local dealer (only had a silver one) and the one I bought mine from said it was one of two in seven states in the NW US, and arrived the day before. Some guy had ordered it, then backed out the day before delivery. Putz.

That's cool, but I was actually referring to the 'Boys In Blue'. Keep an eyeball out, 'cause they'll have no trouble at all seeing you!
