Yep,Cruising up to Indy to meet SRT-Firefighter for the pre -Brickyard cruise I hit a flock, gaggle or swarm(right word?) of butterflies at about 110.Don`t know if they were Monarchs or Viceroys but it looked like someone threw a potpourri fastball @ 95 mph at my windshield. The explosion was like a kaleidescope of colors during a Jimi Hendrix LSD trip!

Just thought I would share. :)

How about a "murder" of butterflies!!!!! Well if it were crows it would have been called a murder not a swarm or flock!!! Weird huh!!

So this is the danger of a buck10???? And I thought it would have been potholes or police sirens!!!

Are you lucky enough to go the the race on Sunday?? That would be fun for sure.

Patrick ,I could have gone.Somebody had extra tickets but I didn`t want to make the trip back up tomorrow.I am out of town next weekend and can`t get rid of my IRL tickets ,so I passed.

Not a danger @ 110 but just surprised me for sure.It looked like a f`n pinata going off! :)

Welcome to the club brother.... just be happy they were butterflies and not birds.
I think I'm still helping out bird families in which I've taken away a loved one.

Classic!!!!!!!!! Great line :D :D

I once had a bird fly into my windshield on my work truck slide off the windshield hit my drivers side mirror, bounce into the cab (window was down) and land in my lap!!!!! all at 50 mph!!! The was an explosion of feathers inside the cab and years later when I sold the truck, I was still finding feathers in there!!! It was a very weird situation as I was very surprised this bird was sitting on my crotch, I immeadiatly smacked it over to the other side of the cab.... wasnt sure if it was dead or not, it all happened so fast. very strange

So the bird stories are on!! I drive tractor trailers cross country, and I was just north of Seattle, on I-5. Can I just say that the turkey buzzards are big up there. When you have one of those hit your window at 70 mph, it just does not hit. It comes thru the window!! Of course it does not die right away. (kind of like a chicken) When the Washinghton State Patrol pulled up and saw me sitting in the grass, on the phone, he didn't know what to think. When he saw what happened, he thought that it was the funniest thing that he ever saw. (I didn't seem to think so at the time)

Killer turkey buzzards!!!!!!!! dude, I would have been shaking from being so worked up with that.

Another time a golf ball came across the road, same as the bird, hit the windshield, bounced off the driverside mirror, window down again, and flew into the cab hitting the rear panel of the cab behind my head!!! It literally missed my head by mere inches!!! I got the ac fixed after that, no more freak misshaps!!! I couldnt believe the same thing happened again.

Looked like the wipers and windshield got egged to be sure. :(
