I just installed my new VEC 2 yesterday and would like some program starting points. The stock Ram program provided with the VEC does a good job of smoothing out the power and getting rid of the excessive deceleration backfire/burble from my straight pipes.
I told my wife that it was a $1K fix for a $50 muffler removal. :)
Who has had time to get some programs together?
I would be willing to host the programs with descriptions for everyone to download if tuners would send them to me.

Send any programs with as lengthy descriptions as possible to:
[email protected]

Thanks in advance,
Taylor

The guys at Roe Racing installed mine on the 19th, and they gave me 3 cards to go with it: stock, mild, and aggressive tune. Did you not get any different tunes?

I ran 2-3 dyno runs on each tune to determine the best, and the mild and aggressive tune's were almost identical, but I hit 450 HP and 492 for torque.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the price of the Vec 2 with install??

Quoteszone,
I didn't get any programs other than the files in the samples folder on the VEC software CD. The GENIII Ram sample file is a pretty basic tune and probably getting old compared to your dyno tuned data.

Which program do you do your daily driving with?
Would you send me copies?
Thanks,
Taylor

Taylor, check with Roe, but I suggest you are going to be better off by getting with a local shop with a dyno and wideband and testing to see what works best for your home altitude. Being that you are at 5000 - 6000 ft. makes your program quite a bit different from most folks who live at sea level to 1000 ft.

Since my VEC2 was actually installed at Roe Racing, I've never installed the actual software and don't have the smart card writer. I used their "aggressive tune" that they gave me (the actual smart card). I use the aggressive tune on a daily basis, as it produced the most power. However, as Hennessy mentioned, I'm in Florida at sea level. Additionally, my local dyno shop doesn't have air/fuel ratio data collection. So we were going based on strictly max power. I'm waiting for Roe to finish the supercharger, and at that point I'll have them dyno tune properly after the blower is installed. I don't see the point in spending the money twice for only a few more months benefit of slightly more power. As it was I picked up over 70HP and 100 ft/lb.

What were your Dyno nunbers before and after the VEC and what brand of Dyno was used? Thanks Jack
