stock????? LOL
Yes but the sad part is they can get all those parts for about 2500-3000 and it makes the L into a low 12 second piece or better.
They can get parts............
They get support from SVT Ford...........
They get a SVT magazine with information and sources............
I cannot get any parts, I have to have everything fabricated at great expense and time.
I get no support from Dodge what so ever.
This truck was introduced with great fanfare and accolades by DaimlerChrysler, and that is where it
all stopped. I have purchased many other performance vehicles over the years. With respect to all these cars and trucks i have never felt the way about a vehicle that I feel about this Dodge. This stems from partially from my experiance with the Dodge factory after the camshaft recall. My truck ran very good when I took delivery. After the recall work was done the power and driveabily was less. When I returned to the dealer I was told that they did in fact reflash the PCM. This was later denied. I immediatly returned the truck to the dealer that performed the recall campaign. They drove, scanned, reflashed the PCM. They kept the truck for several more days and said that it would "learn" a better tune up and run better. It did not. I had the truck dynoed at WestCoast Viper. It had 406 RWHP. This was about 23 RWHP less than the norm. I contacted the factory seeking help and was told to take it to another dealer which I did. The Dealer kept it for 2 days and told me that they did not recognize my dyno sheet as valid. I asked them for their dyno sheet and they told me they did not have one, but the "truck was fine". They said my view was subjective although it was supported with documentation ( Dyno Print out). Their view was not suported by any standardized test. I recontacted the factory and was told by the customer service representative that management had told him "do not to talk to me any more". I asked him if this was an across the board policy regarding future contact between myself and DaimlerChrysler? He said that management did want anyone from the factory talking to me. This is an attitude that just baffles me. I might expect this from a swap meet vendor not an not a fortune 500 multinational corporation. In the last 6 years I have purchased 7 new vehicles and have been satisfied with them all. We are going to replace my wifes 1998 Maxima SE and she said she likes the Chrysler Crossfire, I really like the Chrysler 300C SRT-8. With a company that does not want to talk to me there is no chance that I will be buying another DaimlerChrysler vehicle. I do not know what my wife will end up liking, probably a BMW or Infinity. BMW and Infinity are noted for their customer satisfaction. I am looking hard at the Caddy CTS-V with the LS-6 400 HP motor. There are a gazillion parts for a Chevrolet motor. This car comes with the same T56 6 SPD that is in the SRT-10 and for about 8 grand you can have 600+ real HP. I have observed that in talking with other SRT-10 owners that I am not alone in the way I feel about the truck. This is born out in the number of used trucks available for sale at the present time and the deep discounts that are being offered on new SRT-10's at this time. When I bought the truck I had not been this excited about a car or truck for a long time. I still love the truck but after the way I was treated by the factory I have an ambivalence that will not go away. I needed to vent a little as i have been frustrated about this issue for some time now.
My point is that there are many different ways to have fun. This board is one of the reasons I have kept the Dodge. I have met many great people and a few very special ones. The information that is passed along ranges from the valuable to the ridiculous. I check this board just as often as I check me email.
Thank you all for your posts and input...Jack
