I have seen a lot of discussion on replacing the shifter, has anyone tried to get the dealer shop to address this?
I am just going next week for the first oil change.
I noticed there is no web site for Hurst Shifter. I thought they might have a customer service dept. that could address this. Seems silly to me to just throw out the shifter and buy another, I noticed on several websites that sell them they are not really cheap. Thanks

Welcome to the RBC Movinon!!! As far as missing third, I found that you just have to relax when shifting it into third, dont force it.......this is what I have been doing and have only missed it once at the track and never on the roads except during the first month I had her.

It does seem silly to toss a new shifter....I agree, but I did toss a perfectly good muffler and soon to toss the stock intake!

in a way like the factory airbox, your stock shifter is designed to be quiet & to appeal to the masses who are not into realizing the full potential of their vehicle. the Manufactor's have to compromise between what is full on performance & the appearance of looking peformance. if you want the most power out your truck you go with headers, and a cold air intake, and a VEC2 programmer. if you want to quickly snatch the next gear while racing someone or the clock, or just burning down your favorite road, then we need to replace the shifter. give me a call.
shifters, power adders, stereo equipment, lowering kits, tinted windows, it is up to you to decide how good you want to make it. ;)

I raced myself today with my new toy, Beltronics FX2.

Did not miss 3rd but launched at 1kRPM with zero wheel spin and slight bog off the line. Ran 5.48 0-60

I was happy and will try for a better time. I like that unit FX2 alot. really cool measurements and I got it for $125
