Thanks to RolexDr for installation tips. I did mine a bit differently. I don't plan on using the bed of my truck for anything but groceries, so I fit the top permanently. I removed the riveted hinge pin from the back of the top, then installed it permanently w/ "L" brackets. After fitting, I dropped it off at the body shop where they filled and repaired a blemish (factory installed), sanded, primed and painted. Here are a couple of pics but it is after sundown, so they're a little dark. Anyone interested in additional pics, let me know and i'll take more.

Oh ya, one pic of Bill Elliott (Dodge #9) signing my truck at Infineon Raceway a couple months ago :)

Looks real nice.. Might of just changed my mind on what top to get.. Can you take some closer pics around the wing and inside where all the hardware is mounted?

Thx,

:D

The covers are 90% watertight according to Checkmate. The cut around the wing if sealed properly shouldn`t affect that.Mine leaks NO water. :)

$349.95 installed free if you go there, shipping extra if you don`t.

That looks awesome painted

I may be re thinking painting mine

I installed my cover with out the shocks--its never going to be opened, i just used the quick release straps to hole it down as well as the wing.

I do need to do some more final fitting of the icover around the wing. Mine is fit way way to tight and the cover has scratched the underside of the wing. ITs not visible but i know its there. Plus i need to hide the silver color from where i cut the frame.

Mine is 90% water tight-- heavy rain and poor washing ( to much hose water at the wing ) and it leaks a little at the wing or if you really spray at the exact side of the rail

only a touch gets in but since i have the carpet underside there are no drips

for the area around where you notch the cover try using some of their seal strip and put some on the side on the cover, and some on the side of the bed. i did thie and it seals real good.

I put removed the hinge which allows the front end of the cover to seal evenly with the rest of the cover. With the hinge in place, the front end was almost .25 inches higher than without. I also used .50 inch poly weather strip around entire cover. Cut at 45 deg. angle at corners so they seal together as cover is compressed down on the bed. I did NOT notch the top for the wing. If you remove the wing, you'll notice the seal barely makes contact w/ the bed (even when tightened down). I installed the wing over the cover and cinched it down. I do have about .15 inch gap (after it is tightened down). I'll take close-up pics tomorrow of the wing where it mounts to the bed and hardware brackets I used to install the top to the bed.

My top is completely water-tight (although I don't drive my truck when it's wet out)

Thanks for the compliments.
