Since both trucks have leaf spring suspension, I thought I'd share this.
It gets interesting on page 2-4, regarding changing the pinion angle and traction off the line.
It seems that simply $5 shims can greatly increase traction.

Ever wonder how I got 1.59-1.61 60 foots on a stock convertor? Its all in the suspension.
-3 is about right on a street truck, -5 is for MAXIMUM traction but I would tell someone who drives thier truck alot to set it up like that, it will wear out your u-joints faster.
If you leave it like that, you will break your driveshaft on a hard hooking launch. Been there done that.....
