From what I read it does 2 things

1. provides 100 some odd pounds of downforce at super speeds (above 125 I guess)

2. reduces drag of the truck

Now # 2 is very odd of r a spoiler to do that and it means Dodge took serious time into designing the spoiler so it could do 154+MPH

Same thing with my truck. It took about 2 weeks for them to resize it to fit the cover and then get it back on. It sucked having to drive around with no wing. But it looks great now :D

Also, since i had to get the wing cut to fit the cover, do you think it is still fully functional? They took about 2 inches out of the middle, then put it back together.

What a minute here, you had them cut the wing and not the cover???? Most guys just had their cover cut to accomidate the wing! I just shimmed my wing up a bit....Technically I think anything we do back there will mess with the downforce/drag etc......will we be able to tell??? I doubt it unless of course you have a Nascar track available to you!!

It was the cover from Dodge...made to fit the truck. The only thing they could do was cut the wing. The cover looks really nice though. Its not just flat, it has some ridges in it. But as long as the wing is back on...

Yep Sidedrifter is corrrrect...it is functional.
i also read an article saying that it flexes with the air current. I saw a gray SRT-10 here at a chevy dealr in Kent and the guy who owned it put some apray in bed liner on the back face of the air foil...looked like crap and even the sales guy said that it was functional but was not sure how much the wing would be affected...I said, yeah, I haven't gone 135mph plus yet either...ha

oh and another thing, driving with the tail gate down....is also a no-no...ya get even more drag...

As for MauiSRT's neighbor who thinks the wing is gay...he is just jealous that he can't have an srt...
