I went by a shop today to check on removing my secondary cats before i place a Magnaflow exhaust system on. The owner of the shop advised against it........he stated that such an action would void my warranty on the engine. Please advise fellows. thanks.

Good to know guys. Can i assume that getting headers will not affect the engine warranty too? The only mods i am planning are the removal of secondary cats, magnaflow exhaust system and some headers. So you all agree that these mods will not affect my engine warranty?

It will really depend on the dealer. If the dealer can say that the mods directly was the cause of the failure, sorry no warranty. But if your harmonic balancer cracks or a rocker arm comes loose and bings a piston, then you are ok. So basically unless your truck runs extremely lean or rich and its because of increased exhaust pressure or lack of it, then you'll be ok. Any more Q's call Bill Pembrton he may be able to help.

Which dealer was this? I'm in El Paso too, and I'm thinking of picking up an SRT-10 QC for myself, but I would want to mod it immediately with at least exhaust and intake.

it was at a muffler shop. i went to driveway dodge and the viper tech told me that a catback system and removal of 2nd cats should be ok though, as far as the engine warranty.

he also told me that with headers he couldnt say whether or not it could affect the engine negatively.
