Around 2pm today, sun was bright, 60 degrees. SR 27 just south of Leesburg. Filled the Silver Bullet with 94 Octane, and added 32oz of the fuel oxygenator. Electronic Boost control on (have to ask John what it's set to, off, its around 7psi). We stage, light turns Green. He's got me by a car length, 3rd gear he has me by 2 car lengths. Shifting into 4th with foot mashed to the floor. Something happened. Something powerful. around 3800rpm or so, the truck damn near came airborne, I was pushed agressively into the seat, I ran that to 5500 at 130(ish)mph, gaining quick on him, closing the gap to 1.5 car lengths, shift into 5th, closing quick, 1/2 car length, 145mph gaining, burried the speedometer in 5th. Stayed with him neck and neck for 1/8 mile or so. I wasn't pulling ahead, and then it happened, he left me as if I was sitting still. I had no more, I had it at 4500+RPM in 5th, and previous experience has shown 6th is useless at that speed. When I caught up to him. I forked over the cash (Thank goodness I didn't do pinks). He said he was reading 170mph when he walked (ok ran) away. His plate is very appropriate "CYA". I thought it was "Cover your ass", but now I realize it is "See Ya" ;) Time to break out the Hyabusa :)

Hey Craig I know you probably have alot of work done to your busa, but you might want to give Kevin Hunt at KWS in Charleston SC a call, when it comes to zukes ain't many people can outdo the man, he even had Maladin in the AMA complaining about how fast his superbikes were,and he's on a factory team! Just tell him Sawyer said to call , he know me well, he'll do ya right.843-566-0004

Awsome story :D Craig I believe you need to kick that boost up. I don't believe 7 psi is going to do it against that vette. I believe I recall reading John H ran a max of 12.5 psi. Would of made things a little different :D
I believe it's time for round two...

Yeah up the boost, eat a san antonio style breakfast,( two bean burittos with beans on the side) and carry a large lighter and a fire extenguisher.lol :D

More boost.

I would get some 112+ VP and turn the boost to 12+ and try it again....Jack
The sad truth about trucks is they are bricks on the top end.
You can always try it again on a drag strip......Jack

Thanks..

The guy in the vette called, wanting to run me in the Busa, I declined. He then informs me not only is he an Orange County Sherrifs Officer (very humorous), but his Vette runs in the High 8's low 9's :) I don't feel so bad now. Not only does he have me on experience in drag racing, he's got me in raw HP plus he's got atleast $75K more in engine/performance parts, and at best is only 2 seconds faster in the 1/4.

I told him I'd be ready for a rematch when the RED Rocket gets here ;)

For Turbocharged motors, go with the Good Stuff - - VP C16 (117 Octane).
My Syclone loves it!! :D :D

but dont you see the irony. his is a 3000 pound sports car, you have a 5k pound brick! That viper motor is indeed one of the 7th wonders of the world, well it is to me.

You have a nice truck, but you said only 2 sec faster........do you have any idea what you would have to do to go from 10 secs to just 9 secs let alone 8....Man the cost and the HP needed.........Anyways there is one 9 sec Lightning and a bunch of 10 secs Lightnings, so you can see it is not that easy. I am glad you are out there running your truck, I knew it would be a monster, but now the second part .......learning how to drive that bad boy. Here is a Vid of Blue @ HRP...........

Thanks, I have been working on getting the power to the ground, and now it is time to turn it up. I still wish I could have raced SRT 10x3's truck before it left, but oh well.........maybe some other time :cool: .

It's headed back for some upgrades, so you'll have a chance to race it before and or after the upgrades :)

Some rear end upgrades, axel's. Automatic :) Maybe some bigger turbo's, and some other engine goodies. ;)

Geez, you hardly had time to burn the paint off the newest engine upgrades!! :p :D

Are ya shooting for 1000HP now? :cool:

It's your money, but don't you think you should take it to the track first to see if what you have is working???????? I mean have you made any passes with it at all........to put more money in and you can't drive it better than 12s would be a waste.......................Just a thought.....
