Noticed my SRT-10 has two battery boxes, both driver and passenger side. The driver side is occupied, passenger empty. I heard thet the SRT-10 is actually built on the 2500(3/4 ton) frame, which is available with the diesel, and two batteries. Any solid info re 1500 vs.2500 frame under truck would be appreciated. Am thinking of fitting empty tray with strap for heated lunchbox.

The second, unused battery tray is a support for the air box. The truck is a 1/2 ton but is built in Mexico where they build 3/4 ton, and maybe 1 ton trucks.

9 Seconds is close... the chassis is 1/2 ton all the way, with all the SRT mods... the battery tray is in fact the same part used in the diesel as the lower airbox is common with the cummins. The battery tray also serves to hold the inner fender liner in place. If you look at the location of the Hemi ram airbox, you'll see why they didn't re-use it for the viper application.
