SRT-10 Owners... Gear shifting in the SRT-10?

How do you like the way your SRT-10 shifts gears? I would assume the throw is long and possibly notchy. Just speculating. What is the gateway like. Close between gears or...

I am interested in knowing your opinions towards having a six speed and the way it allows you to shift.

Powershifting? Possible?

Thanks Guys,

Shifting

I love 6-speeds but I do not like this one (at least not yet). The 1-2 shift is much more difficult than it should be under power.

Personally I love the way mine shifts. Aside from the fact that the handle is longer, it shifts just like my Viper. In other words, if I didn't look, I'd swear it was a short shifter. I find the throw to be short, crisp, and it goes smoothly but firmly into every gear. The gears are fairly close; wouldn't be hard for a newbie to hit 4th when trying to go to 6th, for example. I like it.
I like they feel of the Hurst shifter, after over 2000 miles..seems like it is loosening up..I sold my Z06,which i had installed a aftermarket Hurst shifter so i am sold on their performance (Hurst)..
Hurst

I am a big Hurst fan as well -- just taking a while to get used to the geometry of shifting this one. Also agree with you that it is loosening up a bit. Came up with a simple modification that dramatically decreases the chance of blowing the 1-2 shift (at least for me) if anyone is interested....

i've been driving mine for a couple of days now and it shifts great! smooth and the throws don't seem long to me at all.haven't missed a shift yet! UNBELIEVABLE TRUCK!
Thanks EVERYONE! I was very curious to hear your responses! Glad to see you guys enjoy the way the SRT-10 shifts :D

-Thanks,

I'm kind of curious about this... isn't this just a pull straight back? What is it that makes it difficult under power? How is the clutch anyway? Long/short throw? Easy pressure? Long engagement? Easy to slip?

I wasn't sure about that either. Mine goes right into all gears almost effortlessly.
Kind of makes sense

Was having problems with my elbox hitting the seat when it was folded down.... DOH
