Hello from England. Picking up big red this coming week end, just sold my `03 Dark Shadow Grey Lightning on Saturday, test drove the ram Sunday and bought it.
Road test impressions great interior, nice gear change, good handling with similar performance to the Lightning which was 400/500 rw power.
The biggest difference seems to be that the Ram is half a size up every where in overall dimensions. Had two `L`s so thought time for a change.
Is there anything special I should know about, the clutch seems a weak point and is as much as I know.
Plan on lowering, custom exhaust and solid bed cover. This`ll do I think for a start. Thanks for all info in advance !

Great to hear from England

A friend of mine was in London a month ago and spotted a Black SRT 10 driving down the street. Of course when he got home he had to let me know. It's great to hear from you guys and as you probably have read there are lots of great SRT ideas on this web site.
I own a Red SRT 10 with a hard top, bug deflector, and K&N air filter. I'm planning on a lighting package and super charger yet.
Have you changed your trucks over to right hand steering yet?
Whats premium fuel worth over their? The price has really been bouncing around here.

Uk Ram

Hello DAVID F, junior member! Sold the Lightning Saturday, went to someone I know who imports US vehicles, in Coventry and had a go in the Ram. After selling the Lightning I was going to get another new one with built motor and change the supercharger=600+ rwhp. However, after trying the Ram I thought time for a change! Should have it this week end.
The truck was sourced from Texas.
I`m trying to arrange a solid bed cover at the moment, looks like it`ll come from the US.
Where did you get your exhaust system from? I would like to put side exit as in the Lightning. I`ve only had a quick look under, but it should work. I`ll have the system custom made in polished stainless, with 3.5" or 4" tails possibley exiting both sides! This should make it shout!
Is there any reason I car`nt put straight pipes on?
By the way, these Ram SRT boards are much smaller than the `L` boards.
Suppose this makes us even less common than having a Lightning in the UK.

Answer to 456 question, no my truck is still left hand drive as it cost £6,000 to convert to right hand drive which I don't feel is necessary.

The price of premium octane fuel is £4.50 per gallon, but I run mine on regular because regular unleaded in England is about 95 octane and premium is about 97 octane?

Exhaust question? My exhaust came from Mofo who is a member of this forum he is at the moment working on buying headers and high flow cats and has posted in on the performance forum. The exhaust I bought fits in the original position, but I'm sure you could adapt it for side exit.

'quicksilver'

They also have a great sounding system from Magnaflow Performance Exhaust. These are all mandrel bent pipes. They say.....(10-12hp and 25 ftpds Torque.) ;) They found that leaving them in a 2 into 1 muffler was the best performance......they also have ready K & N filters for the Ram SRT-10. :D
pipes & muffler.................$629.00
K&N Air-charger system.......$450.00

man thats about 5.55 dollars a gallon. For 22 gallons that would be 122 dollars. If it's a daily driver that will make it at least 1 fill per week, making it 488 dollars a month for gas!!

Whats with the gas taxes over there?

OUCH! Expensive drive.. But I guess if you can effort the ride you can afford the fuel. Thats an expensive conversion as well and yes I think I would keep it left. In any case they are a great performance machine and you have to love driving it.
