I just got my new 2005 Black SRT-10 three weeks ago and it already has problems. Took it into the dealer to have a tow hitch put on and was soon called back down to the dealer telling me that they ordered the wrong hitch and that Dodge does'nt make one for the SRT-10. The dealer and I found that to be a little strange when he has two SRT-10 (4 doors) on the lot with tow hitches. We then found out that the hitch on the SRT-10 (4 doors) are welded on at the factory and that is the reason there is no feild replacment. There now going to order me an after market hitch from Loctight.

The second problem is really weird. While picking the truck up at the dealer with no hitch, for some reason the key will now not open the door or start the truck. They told me that they needed to order a whole new steering colomn and it would take three to five days to get it. I was a little pissed and to make things worse they wanted to give me a P/T cruiser as a rental car.

Has anyone else ever heard of keys going bad?

They ended up fixing it in two days without a new colomn but I was still pissed.

By the way- still waiting for that tow hitch to come in.

well first off you will probably get clutch problems trying to tow, depending on the weight. the tow rating on the RC is 700lbs. But the QC is rated for towing. Thats why they haven't got one listed for the RC, and they probably just lost your keys to the truck and wanted you to think they ordered a new key

New Keys

Thats what I thought also Stinker, but before they fixed the problem they cut a new key from the VIN# and it did'nt work either. My two new keys are definitly a different cut then my old ones. I don't know what they did but at least it works now.

By the way, that P/T cruiser they gave me as a rental was a turbo. After removing the o2 sensor from the turbo it went pretty good.

It sucks when things go wrong on a new vehicle, I had my cd player die on me. But at least its a simple issue and not a drivetrain issue.

WTF?? I know I replied to this thread yesterday, and it's not here?

Anyway, I bought a hitch from the Dodge dealer and it bolted right up!

IMO, if you are good with a clutch and use common sense when towing, you'll be fine.
