I went to a dealership by me today, not the one im getting my truck from, but just to look at the SRT-10's they had in stock.. And when I asked the sales guy about the truck, he seemed like he was blowing me off.. So i asked a few more questions about when the quad cab is arriving and stuff, and he said, "when it comes out, why dont you have your mom and dad bring you back to see it" and then he laughed.. WTF is that about?? Im 24.. does he not think i could afford the damn truck on my own?? I was shocked and didnt know what to say to the guy so I just walked away.. Is this worth being pissed off about? Sorry, just had to vent...

You can handle it however you like,
but I would have asked to speak to the sales manager...
and tell him how you were treated
Some salesmen are just a$$holes.
No ,But it is worth seeing the General Manager or owner over and telling him why you won`t be buying the truck there. Also tell him everyone else you tell about his dealership won`t be either.Let him know about the forum post. Ask the Zone Office to fill out a CSI inquiry. That score will get their attention.I take it the dealership isn`t a Five Star rated one.

Also make sure when you take delivery of your new hot rod to go by and say hello to the ******* and show him how he "lost" the sale !!!!!! Well thats in case you want to rub it in!!!!! But probably you'll be long over it by then...

All the above plus tell the sales manager to pack sand! :D
I actually love Dealers like this. They are the salt of the Earth and are just wonderful for...........................us!! I was treated the same when I was young and wanted to buy a new Firebird, TR7, Honda Accord, etc. The amazing fact is the lack of vision, since common sense should tell you a young buyer has more potential for your business than one in his/her 70s, yet most salespeople will run for the older customer. It may be easier in the sales process, but you will not have a chance to sell them many more vehicles. Both individuals should be treated with respect, yet looking for long term goals , a younger client will give you the opportunity to build a strong , lasting relationship & they may allow you to make numerous sales - if you take care of them.

That said, get the truck, drive by the Dealership and use the infamous thumb to nose wave or if you are feeling generous the slow Beauty Queen Parade wave would be nice.

Sh!t, if you lived close to me we could take my truck to that Stealership and tell them it was yours. I'd even let ya drive!

For the longest time, I really HATED going to any Dealer when they were open, with this being just one of the reasons. Always went on Sundays to avoid the salesmen, and then go back when I was damn good and ready to buy something (assuming they gave me the deal I wanted).

Have to admit though, my last few purchases were pretty good and I feel I was treated well. :)

Ah to be 24 one more time...........................
im almost 17 and my dealer asked me if i wanted to buy an SRT-10 quad cab.
My experience here in Jacksonvill: Went to the dealer who had a Black SRT-10 on the lot and I was ready with loan in hand, mind you I,m twice Shinnisters age. Anyway I told the sales guy I was interested and wanted to check it out. He said great, I said lets take it for a spin. It was parked in the sevice bay at the time, he gave me the keys, said to pull up front and he would be there in a minute. I should have just drove off at this time, but thinking I was going to get to drive it I waited, and waited, and waited, then he finally came out and gave me the, lets go inside first and talk about your trade. This is where ii should have caught on but I got out and went in. He finally told me what he would pay for my Q-cab Hemi and I laughed. I then told him I will pay for the truck and sell mine on my own.

I then said I need to test drive the truck to see if I want to buy it. He then told me they don't let customers test drive these vehicles and that most people that buy these vehicles don't test drive them. I told him he was crazy if he thought I was going to lay down $50,000.00 for anything without testing it out. Well Iwalked out and bought one from my friends dealership in Panama city that weekend.

Salesmen are like lawyers!! They all suk until you need one!!

if i did that, i would go back to that dealership and say "you should have let me test drive it. i gave the other guy 50,000 in cash because he let me test drive it, and you didnt"
when I thought about buying one i went straight to the sales manager, didnt worry about some guy who didnt know what he was talking about trying to "sell" me the truck.

Also i'm only 21, the guy didnt make jokes but he did have a puzzled look on his face, then he asked what I drove up there and I said a corvette, ran my credit, then said "we don't usually do this but do you want a test drive."
My ponytail, earring, tank top and slaps always throws them off!!!!!

"Yes that is correct, I will be paying cash"!!!!!! :D Still no test drive!!! bastards....

Ah, too kewl.. Why do you call it grease instead on lotion??
We have been referring to it as grease for years, just a goofy word, nothing special, but to our customers we call it "lotion"......"heh wanna buy some Maui Grease" ??? That wouldnt work!!
