I was talking to a guy that said he had owned a SRT Ram and he told me that he started having transmission problems at about 20,000 miles. Now I am not sure if I beleave that the guy even owned one, but as anybody had any problems so far? I ask because I am considering a purchase in the near future. Thanks.

I don"t think he had one either, these transmissions, are just about bullit proof ,under proper care and not ,crazy ,crazy abuse they will hold up ,they are also used in the c5 and c6 vetts,so they are widely used. so not to worry.

He could have been talking clutch, bearing who knows, we don't what kind of probem he was having do we? If it was clutch, probably normal , with the miles probably all highway, lucky to get 20,000. And Mark T has 18,000 on his why couldn't the other guy have 20,000? I guess I believe the mileage because I average between all my vehicles close to 125-130,000 miles a year.( now that includes my tractor and trailor) But heck my mother does sales and averages 45,000 on her suburban every year. Ya'll guys just need to get out more. :D

Could be talking about that transmission problem we all have had since we all put one in the driveway...

Transmission of right foot to floorboard problem i think....

Rehab has not helped me a bit.....Picked up a "beater" to keep the SRT "put up", and keep the miles down.... now it just makes me want to get in her more....

Uh...I gotta go.... Redbuttonitis kicked in.

I'll second that. Drive the beater in bad weather and then I'm like a kid in a candy store on the weekend with the SRT-10.

Redbutton-itis

I got my red snake in Sept. 04, and now have about 3,500 miles on it..I want to drive it more often but that would mean that i would have to wash it more often to keep up the nice clean look. If it ever stops raining here, I can enjoy cruising around more...Country up here sure is a lot different than being in CA.
Who knows, I might just go back...miss the beach cruising...
I get the RBI's (redbuttonitis) everytime I go out in the garage and see that the rain which hampers our play-time. Dont wanna risk someone ramming into me in this wet icy road weather. they really have some bad drivers up here. Hopfully by next weekend it'll be nice, dry and speed ready. Ahhhhhhhhh!

I think possibly the guy was not a Mopar fan. and I too think he did not own one.
On the other hand, when I had my 1997 Dodge Sport Ram, it was my daily driver and I drove from Riverside, CA to Cerritos, Ca to work and home every day...It is feasible to get that kind of mileage in a year...I never had any probs with that truck. I would conclude that the SRT-10 truck tranny can hold up as well. Go ahead indulge and buy that truck...It is Great! You won't regret it.

You have to consider they use the t-56 in alot of sports cars, they hold up extremely well, they only thing I can think of is that he wore the clutch out and didn't think it should have. too much booggity boogity!!!!!!!!

Had a blast yesterday afternoon....took out the SRT....gave her a wash down....then.....Air Dry baby....
Easy does it out of the water......see ya when I see ya!!
It is really fun to watch all the heads turn when the V-10 grumbles...Easy to forget when I am in the "beater"
Was a great afternoon....mid 60's...
Almost went to the car show last night...was having too much fun on the road...Wish there were some more "twisted" roads here...this truck is great in the turns...

Anyone thinking of hitting a road course with the SRT?
I had an invite over the summer to go to Sebring...could not make it...gutting another house at the time and 108 heat index did not sound all that attractive.

Had that transmission problem yesterday....man the truck sure is great.

Enjoy the games today...2 "snow bowls"
