I recently bought a 2004 SRT-10. It has approximately 70 miles on it. When the truck is idling, I hear a light valve train noise. The oil pressure runs around 65. I was wondering if this noise is normal for the V10 Viper engine?
Mine seems to 'chatter' a bit at idle, but I figured it was just the accessories and belt making the noises. Now I'm not sure, but I don't think anything is actually wrong with my engine.
Totally normal guys, no worries. Viper owners have noticed this for years, and it is just a part of the design. The trucks surprisingly seem to have more insulation in spots , so it is less noticeable. Rock and Roll, you are doing just fine.
