i am in indiana, they need to speak a little louder.
i PUT aftermarket air in my tires and Ford voided my warranty!!!!

Ford now checks all lightnings for chips and other evidence of modifications BEFORE they will service the truck.
Modifications do not, can not, and will not void warranty. But if a modification was to cause trouble somewhere, your warranty could not cover what was damaged due to a modification.

MOLE...what parts of California do you say this is happening?
I've heard nothing.
Pete, my Viper Tech at Neighborhood Service in Irvine hasn't heard anything either, aside from the motor re-call that is.
CAn you be more specific with your claims?
well Im in Southern California and I should have been more specific but i didnt realize that I would get such a negative response ex.Boomer, Thanks you intreped for awnsering my question that was helpful. Ive never had an DC made car so i didnt know the specifics on the warrantys. But my Buddy has a 10 second lighting and he said on there forum he read about two lightnings that raced our truck and 1 blew a rod and anothers cam cylinder so i was asking boomer for intelligent response i dont need to here ur iner thoughts about nothing u heard of...

chill out. type more legible if want to "look" more intelligent. but NOTHING was meant by my reply **** head. now i am being a smart ass. i was merely saying that "I" "me" personally havent heard of anything, so i was implying for you to tell more.
Chill out guys....Mole....from Boomers original post...it wasn't at all negative. You might have read it to fast or gotten the wrong impression.

I say keep the flaming elsewhere, we're here to talk trucks :D

Mole....in response to your last post....To say that your friend has raced or read about someone racing two SRT rams seems kind of fishy. There's not that many trucks out their on the road. But it's possible. As for them breaking something while racing...I haven't heard anything about it. I'm sure if it would have happened to someone around here or someone we know we would have heard about it.
Hope that helps you out some.
I'm not sure how Daimler Chrysler is about warranty's but most dealers will f*ck you over if it's possible. With that said...I wouldn't go get warranty work done with a pulley or any other modification. There is a warranty law out there somewhere (Magnuson??) but like Intreper said it has to cause the failure of parts but hiring an attorney to fight warranty claims is a pain so it's usually easier to pay for the work yourself. Hopefully no one will even need to worry about warranty work

This issue has come up in the past for Dodge Dakota R/Ts too. This is what some have used with success when addressing aftermarket vs warranty conflicts at the dealership.

Federal Warranty Laws
1.The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (42 U.S.C. 2302(C))
This federal law regulates warranties for the protection of consumers. The essence of this law concerning aftermarket auto parts is that a vehicle manufacturer may not condition a written or implied warranty on the consumers using parts or services which are identified by brand, trade, or corporate name (such as the vehicle makers brand) unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. The law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying the warranty. However, the law's protection does not extend to aftermarket parts in situations where such parts actually caused the damage being claimed under the warranty. Further, consumers are advised to be aware of any specific terms or conditions stated in the warranty which may result in its being voided. The law states in relevant part:
"No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumers using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name...." (42 U.S.C. 2302(C)).
