So, it looks like 9 seconds is the first to get his truck, first to modify it with the throttle body, first to bump up the HP and Torque..

Who else out there is working on this stuff :)

Dont let 9 seconds be the only one popping cherries out there :0

The throttle body was a prototype so it had to go back. You left out my other firsts. First door scratch. First leaking rear transmission seal. Thank God not first ticket.

Right now I'm working on a CAI and an exhaust mod.

I've been patiently waiting on my Red Ram SRT-10 since October 6, 2003. I've got several ideas in mind. The first mod will be simple, I plan to paint the mirrors, tailgate and door handles Red. My performance plans are threefold. First, I plan on installing a Viper Engine Calibrator (VEC-2 (or 3)) from Roe Racing. I understand that he has been doing some work with the new Gen 3 motor. Whenever he has the engine calibrator available for the Gen 3 motor...I will have to have one. (I've got a VEC-1 on my intercooled, supercharged, nitrous equipped 1996 Indy Ram and it really solved a my timing and fuel issues). Second, I bought a development prototype throttle body off of ebay 6 months ago, and I plan to use it with my third mod. Third, I want to install a Twin Screw Supercharger from Roe Racing. I understand that he is working on a kit for the Gen 3 motor. If it is as successful as his kit for the Gen 2 motor, I don't think I will need anything else. I am fortunate that I live within 25 miles of his facility and shop, so I plan on spending some time there dialing in a clean stealthy Ram SRT-10. My goal is to have a "dependable" daily driver that doesn't have to be hammered to be enjoyed. I learned a long time ago that there is always somebody out there with a faster vehicle. Cubic power = cubic dollars squared ! CP=C$2

Jax,

All those mods sound great, and it sounds like they should all compliment each other well.

I cant wait to see how it works for you, and what kind of power you put down.

The L certainly has an advantage stock for stock, but I'd be interested to see how long that lasts when both vehicles are supercharged :)

The price on the Roe Supercharger, is, IMHO, a steal as well!

Let us know ASAP!

Are you planning to use the scoop portion for the CAI?

There are few mods out for the truck at present, and I wouldn't be in too big a hurry on the throttle body, as it probably showed up on ebay as it didn't work. We have found out , over the years racing Snakes, that larger throttle bodies have a negative effect on the V10 - the factory one is that good. Sean Roe has a good reputation , along with a relative few other folks doing Superchargers, but placement of items are different with the truck , so we may have to all wait for revisions. I can not imagine it will be a long wait, as there is alot of room under the hood. The air-box seems ripe for a better setup, as it is right above a opening on the grill. Someone will come up with something beneficial there, very soon.

Hemidakota,
I don't know what to expect the cost to be yet. I've seen his Gen 2 SC units running in the 7K range. They are essentially a bolt on unit - unbolt your Gen 2 intake manifold and throttle bodies and replace it with the new manifold with the SC on it. Replace the computer (which is already calibrated based upon your vehicle mods), follow instructions, and you're done. The Gen 3 motor has a central plenum and our motor will sit well back in the truck so I'm sure it will be a challenge to plumb it. I do not think Roe Racing would put a product out there until it will work and fit as intended and perform flawlessly. I don't have any experience with Gen 3 motors, but I'm familiar with Gen 2 motors and I've seen what Sean has done with them. I'm confident that when he has a product available for the Gen 3 motor, I'll be ready.

Bill,
There are not currently any Ram SRT-10's here locally but I'm curious about the underhood clearance between the top of the radiator and the underside of the hood.
I've looked at all of the available pictures and it looks like there might be enough room to run an air box like the Viper SRT-10. The prototype Ram SRT-10 that I saw at Daytona last year had an air box ala Viper right thru the front and looked like it would have some ram air effect thru the front grill. I won't really know how to make it work until I see the radiator support, radiator and the underhood clearance until my truck arrives. Maybe lowering the radiator an inch will make it work.

i believe there is a twin turbo set up for the truck than can put it in the 10s to low 11s i believe. it cost a pretty penny is a pretty nice set up, the company also has performance cluthes and pretty much everything that is need for the engine, i will have to find the website to make sure of the stuff but i know that i have seen the set up

Jax Ram,

I'm assuming you're in Jacksonville (just a guess)...

When you do get your Ram I would love to see it. I'm over that way all the time...

I doubt seriously I'll be in the same league as that thing (judging by your mod plans) as I'm probably one of the few L owners out there planning to leave mine basically stock. I use it to tow my skis back and forth to my parents river house in Branford and my fiances Parents lake house in Orlando, plus it's my daily driver (that gets daily driven a lot) so no big mod plans in my future...

But I would sure like to see one of those things up close...They've definately got the "mean" look to them whereas our L's tend to be a little less aggressive looking...

What's up with the tranny leak? Hard driving or DC quality issue?

Also what CAI works for our trucks? That stock airbox has got to go. Thought the Dakota was bad. I'd like to bolt on a K&N lashup of some sort right to the front of the intake. What are others doing? Similar to Viper SRTs?
