Wing or noWing??? As a option.

OK first of all got my VPRPWR plates.....love it.

Second, installed my checkmate soft tonneau....kinda a pain the ass but do-able. The fit is ok not perfect at all, I definatly need to work on it but I ran out of daylight. I have not put the wing back on only cause I need to figure out how to do it. If it was a hard cover I would just cut it but I got vinyl lovin here.

Anyway I was thinking if the wing was an option on our trucks would you have ordered it or not? Figuring the cost of the option would be what it costs to purchase one from a dealer, what about $ 300 or $400(not sure). Personally I like the wing. Its killing me to drive my truck around without it. I feel my truck is naked without it. It really kinda identifies our trucks. But if it was a option, I think I would hesitate on ordering it, but eventually I would get it. What I like about it is, "its the srt10 ram, the one with the wing." Its part of what makes em special. Anyway would you order it?

You would have ordered it with the truck :D

I would have ordered one (the wing). I fear my truck would look like a Rumble Bee too much without it. (That is why I am not installing the aluminum fuel door)

The wing is awesome and the truck needs it especially since it is truly functional

I was looking at the new ExtangRT cover which is a soft tonneau and looks like it sits lower on the rails then the checkmate. An owner an DTWtrucks.com has pics and it looks like the wing would fit without modifications. I might try it this spring since right now I am too busy keeping the SRT clean :p

Hey Maui, thanks for the pictures. Keep us posted on how you like the cover and re-installing your wing.

I wasn't sure about the wing when I first saw pictures of an SRT-10, but then I saw it in person and was hooked. I think it's as much a part of the truck's identity as the wings on Daytonas and Superbirds. I definitely would have ordered one if it was an option.
Good pics Patrick.I like the wing too.I would have ordered one if it was an option too.

What's involved in removing the wing?

Thanks.

Kevin
Dude awesome pics, that truck is shinning way too much!!!!!!!! As far as the wing , its a must keeper, the only thing I can think of is spacing it just above the cover, maybe Boomer could fab you a aluminum spacer that would bring it up enough to clear the cover on the inside but yet keep the appearance outside and paint it black. Maybe email him and see what he thinks? Great looking shine though!!!!!!

In you glovebox you should have a nylon bag with a nut driver tool. All you do is unscrew two screws on either side of the bed and the wing slides back and up and off the truck. Very easy.

Thanks for shine complements. Just washed her before I took the pics. You guys would have busted my hard if I posted pics of a dirty truck with a new tonneau!!!! Its raining hard today, so it looks like football all day for me.

I wish I could look in the glovebox but I don't own one ---- yet. I'm waiting for Bill P. to sell me a QC at dealer invoice price (ha!). Thanks for the info.
