Ive been lookin at this board for a while just to read up on everything about this truck because I love it...but i signed up today for one reason..as i was lookin at SRT's on EBAY i stumbled across this........ http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6197&item=2479427194&rd=1 ... I thought he completly ruined the truck with the rims but im kinda unsure if its acually a SRT because the tail pipe looks like it belongs on the Hemi Ram and he took no shots of Engine/Int....just though id let you guys have a looks...c ya....

And he lowered the torque and increased the horsepower.

Yeah, but you know something... My VIN came back as the same thing!!! RAM 1500 Reg Cab. My insurance is extremely low because of it. Am I missing something? Is my truck that I bought from a dealership not an SRT-10????
I'm not going to say it is real or not, I can't really tell. Obviously I'd have to see it in person!!!
Nevermind, just call me a moron. I see the recall info now....
I was doubtful at first. I can now see the "traction bar" on the rear leaf springs. That will probably be the least duplicated item. Also those wheels make the brakes look tiny.
All SRT trucks are considered 1500 RAMS. Because it is...you just got the SRT package. Thats all.

As for the truck....those wheels killed the truck completely. And how the heck did he get more horses, and loose torque? I call BS!
id call BS to if it wasnt for the seats and the fact that someone would dump in all that money to convert a regular ram to a SRT to THAT much detail
The VIN is all SRT. The cam bolt torque issue was all Viper engine related.

Now the BS parts: Hurst transmission, only 1000 made, sells for $70,000.
oo common 9 secs....those bad ass rims add atleast 10 grand to the price and atleast 10 hp!!
Where the hell did he get that bumper grille? I like the scoop grille also?

I emailed him and was told that he had it custom made for the truck.
The eighth digit in from the left in the VIN is what you look for to see if it is an SRT/10 or not. The letter "H" corresponds with the 8.3L Viper V-10. Other letters would be for the 3.7L / 4.7L / 5.7L etc...

Also the 4G before the last numbers tells you that it's an 04MY, and the G is for Saltillo Assembly plant. S=Warren Truck, and J=St. Louis Assembly which are the other two Dodge plants, but neither build any SRT/10's.
I've seen one SRT10 Ram titled as an SLT1500 Ram with SRT10 options and another titled as an SRT10 Ram...

both trucks from the same dealer and identical except for color!

So it seems some are actually considered SLT1500's with the SRT10 package - others are simply SRT10's.... weird

Question Is it correct to say the last 3 or 4 digets of the vin are the produced number.. So this truck would be # 41 I was told that by a local dealer just wanted to see if their was any truth to it...
REALLY helps with insurance and reg.

Here in Nevada they base your registration fee on the MSRP on the vehicle. When I registered this truck acording to Nevada the MSRP was $19,995 (in Their computers). So that I only paid about $300 total to register, when it should have been over a $1000. Should have seen the look on the dmv guys face when he saw the invoice for a $50K "ram 1500". Same thing with insurance too because they do everything off the Vin. Must be because I think dodge use the chasis from a regular 1500 before they make all of their changes. Thanks Dodge :)
My dealer invoice shows the model as d1500 rc 4x2 body type is SLT

My insurance has it listed as a 1500 4x2 rc. They never asked for engine size,,thank God!!! When the guy asked me what I paid for it, he actually yelled back at me, he couldnt believe "truck cost so much" I told him those leather seats are pricey now!!!!!!!!!!! :D No need to mention the 500 HP $15k engine!!!

patrick
I'm trying to think of something more awful than those rims....

.....ummm.....
.....uhhhhh....

...nope. Can't do it.
That tops the list. :D
